This is a really great video on editing and installing custom IL2 Great Battles missions. I know very little about this sort of thing and all I wanted to know was what to do with the custom singleplayer missions I was downloading from the IL2 server. Around the 5:25 mark you start to get into what I was wanting to know. You go over what files are contained, what their different types mean and where we need to put them. That’s awesome, all the info we need and in a clear concise voice with no bullshit. Thank you!

When setting up a mission, are there any ground based mobile rocket launchers that can be used for ground attack? I've found them on Trains and Ships, but that is the extent of it.

Hello! I have used the editor before and had good success with it. But I have the Kuban expansion now, but when I try to use the Kuban map in the editor, all I get is endless ocean. Anyone know why?

The map for kuban automatically starts you in the lower left corner. Which is the opposite side of the map from any ocean. Zoom out as far as you so you can move fast northwest to land

Make sure you placed either a spawn plane for yourself (set to player) or a multiplayer spawn point with available planes if you are using the dserver

@@dead_reckon I figured out my issue. I had the mission set to cooperative (which would require a player set to "spawn in coop"). After changing to deathmatch everything worked! Thanks for the response and the videos!

Can you layer clouds?

You can play around with the cloud settings. I think setting the clouds to medium or heavy on option 7 or 8 will give you "dual-layer" clouds. It's not a specific setting sadly. In short, some of the available options have layered clouds, but there is not layered clouds box to check.

i try to create a mp mission. i can see my mission in the menu, i can see the airfields and i can select planes. but when i hit start it just zooms out from the ground and then the plane (i can see it on the map) dissapears.

This is most likely because your spawn point is below the ground. There is a button on the top tool bar that will make sure your spawn point is aligned properly with the ground. Looks like an arrow

Well this looks a bit complicated then il2 1946 editor.... in 1946 you opened an map and just found everything you wanted rather in this ,new, click on many folders to find things.. also the 1946 haad unbelievable maaaany factions, planes, tanks etc... soo Even if looks great.. i still have doubts
