Raja sir, SPB sir, are all so dedicated to music for several births, that in this birth, they dont have ego standing in between them and music. They just allow it to happen the way it wants. Their music comes from Indian philosophy where you lose your little self and realize that your life is run by super power. You just echo what occurs without worrying what am I going to do next?

kiran, Several directors, actors and producers who worked with Ilayaraja, have shared how the latter composes. So, it is not a secret. Ilayaraja always says "music should happen". It means, it is not something taught in theory. That's why Einsteins, Edisons etc. are NOT created by universities. They are born. I consider Ilayaraja to be a born genius. His talent is innate and God-gifted. He does not work by formula or nothing like "business secret".

Adhitya S, If composing SOULFUL, heart-ripping, Timeless Music is as easy as "buying lot of CDs of foreign music", then every Tom, Dick & Harry who composes today is a genius 😜! WHY, you could try it too! The problem with our nitwits is that they equate Ilayaraja with their average film music director. Ilayaraja's MAGIC extends BEYOND just film songs or even just background scores. He has composed soulful NON-film albums (How to Name it, Nothing but Wind, Music Messiah, Thiruvasagam in Symphony etc...).
