(sigh) Ironforge, the great mountain home of the Dwarves and shelter to the Gnomes. One of the greatest capitals in the Alliance dwarfing the city of Stormwind. The smell of the forge smoke and bread coming in from the Great Forge and the sounds of pounding hammers and Northern accents ringing and calling in the night. The squabbles and civil wars which make Game of Thrones look like a picnic. Oh, Ironforge I'm proud to call you my home capital in WoW and all of Azeroth

4:21 is my absolute favorite. The moment you step foot into Magnis throne room is forever burned into my brain. This truly was the capital of the alliance, while Varian was gone. From the moment I started playing wow, Dwarfs and Tauren were my 2 favorite races, especially because of their lore, home regions and capitals.

Vanilla to tbc. I don't think blizzard did too much wrong after that. It was just inevitable. No expansion could ever match the first exploration of the huge world of vanilla. There had never been anything like it. Then just as it begin to settle in, TBC is released. Teleporting out of this immense world into Outlands to explore another huge continent, using flying mounts for the first time. The problem with further expansions is an insurmountable obstacle. You can't balance the desires of old and new players. Eventually nobody is happy, the game is fast-forwarded, content is too easily accessible and the concept of a huge mmorpg is not as new and mind-blowing anymore. Luckily enough the music exists on youtube to bring back good old memories and nostalgia.

I truly do miss the feeling this game used to give me :/ most people disagree on what I believe broke WoW as a great game. My problem was with the dungeon que system. In one fell swoop blizzard got rid of any need for server community, and the games adventurous spirit. Before the dungeon que system the player was forced to explore the world, doing quests and looking for people in their respective zones and levels for doing dungeons, not sitting in the main city waiting all day for ques.

You bring up a good point yes, and yes they had to run their course. Sorry to burst your bubble, but wow does suck now. Not that vanilla was the only good part of WOWs history. I can't even listen to the soundtrack anymore and feel the magic anymore because of what Cata and MOP did to wow. I used to love this game. Blizzard did fuck it up.

It's composed by Glenn Stafford, he was the composer for the Warcraft 2 OST and a lot of the Warcraft 3 tracks, so that's why it has that feel.

i remember when i was a Nelf around L11, just changed zone to Auberdine at christmas time, where i saw my friend with a rocket pet, he took me to the harbour and through stormwind and ironforge to get one :D i got lost in both cities for around an hour, you couldn't tell which district you were in back then! xD

WoW, as a game, died a long time ago to me.. but I always loved the Dwarves. I love Dun Morogh, I love Loch Modan, I love The Hinterlands, and when I close my eyes and listen to this music, I can think back to the first time I walked through Ironforge. My computer could barely run the game. There were people everywhere. It's design left me in awe, and I was blown away by how huge and alive it felt. 0:30 - 1:20 still sends a chill down my spine. I wish I could go back and experience that again.

ahh... my first wow character was a dwarf paladin (cuz it looked like gimli from LOTR XD). On the map, there was this place called "Ironforge". At first, i thought it was one of those dungeons that my friends told me. but when i went there. i saw the giant gates and heard this very theme. i would spend hundreds of hours swimming in the lava (cuz i had enough health regen :p) but nope! CATA FUCKING RUINED IT!!! sigh.... vanilla and burning crusade was alot more fun.

no..gnomes retakes they home city-gnomegeran while worgens get a theyr own district in Stormwind(thats fair imo cause..another human citty..ok.. wicked human city..but that dont anything).. what about goblins? they will have town in azhara but its not stated if it would capital or not..imo goblins already have plenty of well built good looking citys in game..so another city? small posibilty..i think that trolls recover echo islands or smth like that..it would be logical..

I miss ol' Ironforge... It's a ghost town now, for the most part. :( It used to be such an awesome place to act as a hub for activity. The fact that it included Stormwind via tunnel just made it that much better, giving BOTH cities coverage. I miss old WoW :( Blizzard decided it liked the no-life raiders better, begging for new ways to look and brag about being more awesome... Despite the fact that they're little kids behind a keyboard.

Let me clarify some things. After making & fully leveling (to 70 in TBC, I quit WoW about 4 months ago) two characters, one on each side, I can say this: People who like the roleplay prefer alliance, people who like to act immaturely go for both equally. They're BOTH overrun with children. And the people who play as the Horde like to talk about irrelavent-to-game things a heck of a lot more than Alliance.

Well Time didn't make Cata Blizzard did but i get what you mean also Blizzard could make servers dedicated to Vanilla and TBC but have point blank refused because they want the game to progress even know people would still play on up to date servers for new content and still play dedicated servers

Answer: you haven't played WoW Vanilla. :) There the only teleports there were used to be those of the, very rare, Warlock class and the mages portals to the capital cities. Since TBC you could be teleported to instances, which completely removed the main travelling part of the game.

That's why they are replacing it. Blizzard does not like the idea of leaving so much game content unexplored (half of the wow-community can't help themselfs Stormwind for instance). Blizzard want all the capital cities to be equals. This is their new method. Check stickies on the forums.
