When doing it by hand it's actually a lot easier to use a hole saw and then just cut out the centers with a jigsaw that way you don't have to make the curve with the jigsaw and you have a perfectly round end that you don't have to shape out

First of all, those are gorgeous, and your cinematography for the reveal was just breathtaking!! And such a sophisticated take on a well-aged concept! I'm gonna push to the slightly extreme on this, but maybe you could try your hand at making some arcade racing games so you can go one on one in Mario Kart or something. Full on adjustable seat, pedals, shifter, wheel with feedback and speakers in the headrest. I'd be willing to bet you'd make it more awesome than I could imagine.

Nice. When the holidays come, put some red and green tissue paper between the fixed and moving panels (using removable tape, of course), and then the light that comes through will be tinted holiday colors. At night, the light from inside the building will light up the windows in those colors for people to enjoy as they drive by. Or, do it now in blue, green, red, purple, orange, and gold. You know, lightsaber colors.

as an engineer who uses CAD tools all day everyday, I can vouch that Fusion 360 is perfect for makers. it's got everything you need without overwhelming you. I used it a couple weekends ago to design a coffee table and see how it would look in my space. the added bonus is a lot of the UI is similar to other AutoDesk software so if you have those skills, it translates well.

Continuing with the Star Wars theme I think you will need a wall projector, and what better way to mount such a thing than to put it inside an R2-D2 unit, placed somewhere in the centre of the room? You could use the same unit to host a lot of controls for the room, such as mood lightning, any motorised future builds etc. And possibly for additional storage as well, for minor stuff needed for games etc.
