Watch out for the guy who puts the Vaseline on the grip end ...
@william86544 жыл бұрын
Been greasing my driver for 3 years now. I could always drive the ball around 260-265 yards, but with a speed swing around 105 my wild shots would go OB. Starting greasing the driver head and noticed a huge difference right away. I might have lost 5-10 yards but I was hitting 75-80% of the fairways now instead of maybe 50%. My ball would go dead straight as you can`t slice or hook the ball. Only way I miss a fairway now is a dead pull or push.Went from a 15-16 handicap to a 10-11 just from being in play all the time. Key is do not put a heavy coat on. Put a dab of Vaseline on the corner of your towel. Wipe your driver before you start the round and that will last a few drives, then every 3-4 holes just act like you are cleaning your club and give it a quick wipe.
@MM-rr1kp3 жыл бұрын
I can understand greasing the driver and enjoying playing your 2nd shot from the fairway the majority of the time. but you cant use those scores to get a handicap and dont even bother writing a number on the card because the lower scores are fraudulent. grease up and enjoy the game playing from the fairway, not losing balls, etc. but dont kid yourself, youre not a 10-11 handicap. and if you play in club tournaments or against your group for money while greasing up then you are just a cheat.
@@MM-rr1kp if that's your concern, then you're absolutely right. If you are a casual player who wants to play a round and not lose a dozen golf balls, then grease that thing up!

Don't do it guys, there is a guy on my course who got caught cheating a few years ago (dropped another ball), and to this day, every time he wins a comp, everyone is whispering behind his back in the clubhouse on whether he might have cheated or not. My point is, this is flat out cheating and once you get caught once, you will always carry that stigma and it will carry from club to club.

Been greasing for years. Used to cut my drives and now I hit them dead straight and longer. The key is you only need a light coat..no need to put it on heavy. Keep a dab on your towel and just act like you are cleaning your face before teeing off. I won my league last year and in the title match did not miss a fairway. Normally I hit around 60% of fairways without greasing. Good Luck guys!!

I am a leisure golfer and not into Tournaments. Searching for extra yardage off the Tee finding the Fairway is always a plus. My only concern is whether we might have to wipe the ball after a long drive. It will be interesting to know if the ball kills the spin with Vaseline for the approach shots which might prevent the ball from biting the Green.
@rainmasterx15 жыл бұрын
It is against the regulations to wipe the ball if I am not mistaken. It doesn't matter if it is for casual play.

Tried water/saliva on the driver club face yesterday, the ball seemed to make a different noise but went dead straight, less height as well. gained about 20 yards. Simon can you test lake balls compared to brand new balls. I see people saying that lake balls get water logged and they wouldn't use them. I personally cant tell any difference and when your paying £1 for a ball which is £4 new its a big saving.
@canuck_gamer3359 Жыл бұрын
I know I'm really late with this response but I can tell you that I know something about urethane, which is what golf ball covers are made from. I don't think a ball that has been under water (fresh water, not salt) would be affected unless maybe it had been under water for years and other factors have had a chance to come into play. I personally have used balls that have been retrieved from water on the course I play regularly and never noticed a difference, not one little bit.

The issue I see here is that your ball will now have vaseline on it, so your next shot, and iron shot, will feel the effects and they won't be desirable.

Oh my gosh! Micheal you are the one that vaseline will help the most. Get that spin down to 1,900 rpm with just a little grease and you will be the longest driver on the course. Don't listen to those who suggest you get a "less lofted" driver. It will only make your shots curve more. People spend thousands of dollars to get the numbers you can have just by using grease.
