People who hear “Yanny” are hearing on a higher frequency. “Laurel” is being heard on a lower frequency. Research says the older you get, the more you hear Laurel because your ability to hear higher frequencies (i.e. hearing Yanny) will decline until all you really hear is lower frequencies (i.e. Laurel). I heard Yanny clear as day repeatedly. I was so worried because James was so adamant on hearing Laurel that I had to research it. Afterwards, I listened to the recording repeatedly trying to focus only on lower registers and that’s when I started hearing Laurel. But Yanny is still there. I either hear them both together or just hear Yanny.

@13:10 the squares are the exact same color. If you look put a hole in something and put it over the letters in each of those squares so it drowns out all the outside colors, you will notice that both of the squares are an identical shade of grey.

The boxes were the same color. If you put a line between them, or are watching on a big enough screen, hold up your finger between them, you’ll see the chink the illusion a bit more clearly. Hope that helps!
