I've heard this but what's with the beeping, are subtraction and addition at different frequencies for them to know when to subtract or add? It's pretty cool, but I wonder how it translates if it's applicable to daily life outside of school.

No, the beeping is just there as a sound for number changing, the kids are seeing the numbers on a big screen or digital board behind teacher which we cannot see on the video. For your next question This is the basic level, you can also add 3 to 4 digit number very quick with mental abacus techniques, and yes it can be use in daily life

Haha! I have been homeschooling my kids for 8 yrs and I promise it gets easier. Eventually as teens they become so independent I make the to do list and provide the curriculum. Then I spend my day reading, crafting, baking, running errands, listening to podcasts, and occasionally I answer questions.
