This channel is so cozy and educational at the same time. I can see myself making or having made most of all those issues the professor adjusted. And he does not correct them right away but explain where the mistake is and how to avoid it, this truly feels like a class. And he is always so respectful to what the artists were probably trying to make and making his changes based on that and not only what " he " would do, saying " ignore me if it's was not your intention " which is so respectful and sweet of him. And it's the first time I've seen someone doing this while correcting an art piece Thank you for all your videos professor ! For taking time to help us and always putting subtitles on so many languages

He is a professional artist afterall, he understands

Yes! He's the only art professor who doesn't downright insult and belittle the people asking him for advice. It feels almost criminal watching his advice videos for free on KZbin.

Yeah i just started watching him. I really appreciate how mindful he is of the artist's feelings towards their piece and how respectfully he delivers his advice.

@@exceptionallyrisoHe is, but it's not a question of being a professional, it's more of respect for others and empathy. Most people don't have these qualities.
It's really refreshing to see an artist who corrects and helps others without calling it ugly and totally changing the art style and composition to something that the amateur artist didn't intend to draw (side eye to the artists who do this)
I love how unified your approach to correction is! You really tackle all parts of a drawing like its one moving machine with a bunch of moving parts . Your corrections are so subtle that they look more like the trajectory of progress for the artist
One thing I really like about these “correction “ videos is that he adds storytelling to the piece (beach house, the girl is sweaty and wants a drink”. It adds an extra layer of charm on top of just doing antatomical corrections
The corrections were subtle but really helpful overall. I think that the primary way to make the piece look more natural is to know how to blend lines so they don't "float."

I can't express how I really really enjoy this.. Especially the moment Saito sensei said "konna kanji... " and he compared before and after correction, I was mind blown by how the subtle change can make a huge difference. 😮😮😮

I think what's amazing is that you highlight the most uncomfy part which is using lines in parts that can just have shadow colors like how you fixed the clavicle earlier. As someone who struggles with this same kind of problem it's very useful for me
Every change he made made me gasp in awe. I had difficulty understanding what he meant by "floating lines" (possibly due to the language barrier), but I think I understood when he changed the clavicle - it looked immensely better using shadows instead!! I also love the way he did the subtle detail with the straw contact to the lips. CORRECTION: I was typing this comment while watching, he ended up explaining! Floating lines means areas where the line art looks out of place! His understanding of composition is amazing and I've learned so much to take away from this video. The only change I'm sad about is when he made the eyes smaller because they were so beautiful! But I agree that the big eyes were the first part I focused on rather than the lemonade and summer theme, and his change looked amazing too.

This series has been so valuable to me, it's so interesting how really it's just small things holding us all back. No one correction ever feels huge or un-reachable with my skill level, but they add up. Thank you for these videos ❤
I can't help but praise Saito-sensei's ability to pinpoint the best parts of the illustration, and how to accentuate those even further or how to use them better. It's both a lesson and a compliment to the artist being corrected. Like how he took the artist's idea to express the fresh summery feeling and push it into a different level of fresh. Even that simple background looks exquisite now.
