Not only Your painting is fantastic, but your video was another piece of art with your narration, and content. Even BBC couldn't do it better.

Oh Miklos, what a gem you are! Thanks for being so kind. You warmed my heart. I haven't been posting videos in the past 4 months now because of emergency situations in my life. But your words just inspired me to pick up the brushes and paint again. Thank you!

4:34 Was that metallic paint? So cool. 7:20 Very little water, exactly, and that's perfect for this style of painting. Awesome, I love this pretending-to-be-semi-realistic sytle absolutely. 10:56 was that white guache? 15:16 Whoah, what a crazy amount of work to paint the skins 🙂

Yes, Miklos, I used the metallic paints that came with the Kuretake Gansai watercolor set I had. They're really easy to work with a add a nice touch to a painting. Kuretake is more opaque than most watercolors. The white I used isn't gouache, it's also Kuretake watercolor. Amazing opacity, right? I love it too! ... haha... Yes, painting skins with this pan set is a bit more time consuming. I just wish Japanese gansai came with pre-mixed skin tones already just like what Prima Marketing has with their Watercolor Confections set. Thanks for watching, Miklos. I can tell you really went through this video thoroughly. That made me so happy! :)

I really like this painting. It's well done with lots of details and looks like a high degree of patience needed. Did you trace the reference photo this because I can not imagine having the patience to free hand all the details. I am watching this because I saw Kuratake gansai paint set at a lower price than I usually see it on Amazon. I don't have this painting and worried that it might not be lightfast. I have professional Fabercastell watercolor pencils that are lightfast that cost much more. I probably don't need to get this kuratake set but I'm so curious to try...

Thanks for your kind words, Snow. I've never traced any of my drawings before. I always hand draw them from scratch that's why it takes me forever to sketch. I know it's not the most efficient way of doing things, but that's mostly because my reference photos are always way smaller than the paper, sketchbook, or canvas I use. You won't go wrong with Kuretake. Ever since I tried it, I hardly touched my other watercolor sets. Gansai paints are a pleasure to use. They're highly pigmented and radiant on paper. I love that they come in metallic and fluorescent colors too. When I first grabbed my Kuretake years ago, the price was cheap and not so many reviews of it can be found in Amazon. So I was skeptical to try. But I tend to be adventurous with art. And I'm so glad I gave it a shot. Now the price has more than doubled.
