I 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 the rotation effect with Distort & Transform. It works with triangles, too, but you can't let the angle and/or horizontal/vertical scale values get too high. Also, if your copies are spiralling 𝒃𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅 your original shape, there may be another shape hidden in the background … select all, delete and start again.

I enjoy your tutorials a lot, and from to time I turn on subtitles. Any chance on synchronizing your voice and subtitles? Right now subtitles are at least two steps ahead of your voice. It's no big deal, but a little iritating. Thanks again for your tutorials!

Try to reorganise the appearance layer after you are done with the effect editing, so the transform effect is on the top. It solved the problem for me.

Thank you very much. In the rotation part, when I apply the rotation with few copies, it does copy but instead of new smaller and rotated squares will be copied in front of the original one, all the new ones were copied underneath the original square. How can I fix this? Many thanks
