Learn how to create a rectangle with wavy edges in Illustrator. I'll show you how to make sure you have even edges to your wavy edge rectangles and how to ensure your shapes expand to the type of shape you want - either a filled shape or a stroked path. OH MY GOD THANK YOU!!!!! I have spent a ridiculously long time trying to figure this out, thinking there must be a simple way to achieve a wavy border, without having to create pattern brushes (they just feel quite high maintenance having to update the patterns to make small changes like line thickness or even colour!) But this worked perfectly! Adobe really should make it simpler. Thank you so much again!!!!!😄😄😄

I've literally just finished a project that required this exact same wavy-style border, but was stumped by the 'ridges per segment' not appearing equal on all sides. Wish I had seen this video sooner ha! My long-winded workaround was to separate my rectangle into 4 individual paths, apply different zigzag effects to both top/bottom, left/right, expand into editable paths, then rejoining the 4 corners... actually works quite well, just more time consuming. Will deffo use your easy workaround in future!
