The clipping mask part is super confusing coming from using photoshop for 12 years. And bascially using other software... Normally you put the texture in the layer above the item I want to use as mask, I'd have expected for the silhouette to only appear on the smudge. Here it's the other way around?? Also why, when releasing the clipping mask, does it give you only the outline of the silhouette object and not how it was before just like the smudge

Hi there, sorry for the late reply! I am not sure what you mean by the word smudge so to try to respond in my best ability. After releasing the Clipping Mask, the top object will not have any Fill or Stroke undless while on the Mask, you right click to Edit the Contents of the mask. After releasing the clipping mask again, it will maintain the Fill color for example. Hope that helps. 😊

6:00 i see that when you select the individual columns the object is not being targeted is there a way to target object when you are selecting columns? like photoshop illustrator layering columns is a bir confusing

Well you can also just click on it or marquee select with the Selection tool. In other words, I am showing different ways how to select or use the Layers panel. Hope that helps 😀👋

On the target column I have some circles that are filled with white color, and others that are not filled. Why is that?

We target a layer to make sure a path is select it indicated by double circles otherwise it will be just a circle. Hope this helps. 😊👋

@@EliasSarantopoulos I have the same question, sometimes the circle is filled, sometimes it’s not (I’m not talking about the double circle). A filled circle seems to be for basic shapes, but I haven't been able to confirm this.

I think I figured it out: It seems to indicate anything that has been applied in the Appearance Panel apart from the basic fill/stroke elements. E.g. an altered opacity or blend mode will trigger it.
