I really love the way you keep things looking very authentic and old but at the same time restoring the piece. So many restorers want to make the piece look brand new again. I love the aged metal and wood. In my opinion this maintains the value of the piece much more than making it look brand new. Thanks for your great videos. ⛏️🛠️🖌️

Вот пример реальной реставрации... Вмешательство по минимуму, вещь не превратил в новодел, сохранил её историю...Труд, терпение колоссальнейшие... (А ещё огромный плюс лично для меня, что нет за кадром бесконечного трёпа... Не затянут показ этапов работы, но видно что и как делает МАСТЕР) От всей души - УСПЕХА во всех начинаниях 😊

L'effetto finale è gradevole e ci hai messo dell'impegno. Ma hanno ragione alcuni critici: non si può parlare di restauro, ma di riparazione e adattamento. Un restauro sndrebbe eseguito ripercorrendo a ritroso le fasi di costruzione: rimuovete i rinforzi in metallo e in legno, riportare la cassa al suo ststo originale, rinforzare il legno, risarcire le lacune, rimettere la tela verniciata (quella dipinta di giallo che hai TAGLIATO con il cutter), riposizionare le serrature, risistemare fasce metalliche e rinforzi in legno..

You installed the dowels, cut them off, and touched it with sandpaper. Sanding was done. I wish my sanding went so fast. looks real nice.

While I appreciate the aesthetic of making it look more like a "medieval" chest (bare wood without the original canvas and plaster/paint covering) than a 19th century trunk it is ultimately inauthentic. It is by no means a "restoration". I was hoping for more.
