Been using the originals since they came out as secondary monitors. They are pretty impressive for their size.

Hello bro was planning to buy the new micro pro for home study and also portability but was considering mtm m2 idk what to choose can you help me ??
@tonyrapa-tonyrapa3 ай бұрын
I desperately want to ge my hands on a pair (pro or not). Great size, great sound (as far as all the reviews go) and front-ported, which is really important for me as my "studio space" is far from ideal.
@mimojapan3 ай бұрын
I'm still using the older version (in the kitchen, hooked up to a TV - yeah a bit overqualified) and they're great to occasionally BT-pair to the phone and brag to the Mrs. with some fresh creation 😀 For better listening, the MTMs are my current main monitors and those as well are an absolute blast and much joy to listen to.
@dkpianist3 ай бұрын
And the MTMs actually work for that? Are you in a small space? What's your listening distance?
@mimojapan3 ай бұрын
@@dkpianist Yes, it’s a tiny tatami room with the speakers about 1.5m away.
@dkpianist3 ай бұрын
@@mimojapan Very interesting! I like the idea of minimalist setups. Is your gear stationary, or do you store it away for the night?
@mimojapan3 ай бұрын
@@dkpianist It's stationary but I do cover the speakers with plastic bags to protect from collecting dust. I'm using IEMs for everything and rarely even switch the speakers on, just for some final checking, once a project is done - maybe once a month :-D

I use a pair of MTMs as monitor speakers for a stage piano (stage pianos don't have an amplifier/speaker system). Just another use-case to think of... no one mentions it. They are amazing, same audio quality as listening via a good pair of Sennheiser headphones. They blow away all piano monitors I tried (Roland, Nord etc.). I may have chosen the smaller Micro monitors had they been equipped with symmetric inputs like the Micro Pros.
@dkpianist3 ай бұрын
I already suspected that the Nord piano speakers are overpriced and not quite living up to it. Good idea anyway. Might also work as a personal monitor at small gigs, given they can be mounted on a mic stand.

@yasunakaikumiАй бұрын
Im also one of those original version user, and NGL the pricing they are asking is quite hefty, id say just get the old version then then ARC Studio with it if deciding to use it for fixed position and not traveling at all.
@Chris-tf7gi2 ай бұрын
Yes, I'm still using the original Iloud monitors. They're solidly built. They perform above their weight. If I had a need I'd add the new version but I don't really have a need. The originals are that good. I do use the bluetooth every now and then with a smart speaker. It wouldn't be a deal breaker because if its that important there are bluetooth receivers. I leave them on all the time, so after probably more than five years you can call them reliable.
@Smurf43113 күн бұрын
I have used the originals since they came out, and no, I am not planing on upgraing. The originals are fine, and I upgraded to the MTM version just because I got a larger "closet" to work in! LOL! Both are we worth the money IMHO....

I bought the Micros 3 years ago, and I was blown away. I'll definitely be getting my hands on the new version, with originals being used somewhere as a high quality bluetooth speakers. Although maybe the questions is: new Micro PRO or original MTMs?
@dkpianist3 ай бұрын
I'd suspect the MTMs pack more of a punch, given their bigger cabinet and woofer surface. Other considerations: micros travel easier and are front ported.
@gaycha65892 ай бұрын
I likewise bought originals 4 years ago, followed by the MTMs for my office set up. The MTMs are a step up and I really enjoy listening nearfield to them. Setting up and fine tuning EQ was a bit of a pita compared to the Micros

So do these new iLouds have any port chuffing? The originals suffered from it with specific low frequencies. Play Strange Addiction by Billy Eilish, when the beat begins.
@yasunakaikumiАй бұрын
im sure they still do, but since its now more DSP controlled i think its less to happen now compare to the old version, although I recommend just getting the new Adam Audio D3V if you just hate that chuffing since they seems to be a same specs with the old iloud micro (tad bigger size than the iloud if you dont mind)
@eranddroory99873 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. I have the originals. I'm happy to mix on them don't need a second pair of monitors, I'll check the low lows on my headphones. The reason they are so popular is the fact they translate so well. Would I upgrade? Never. The "pro" version is just too expensive. The originals cost less than half at Thomann. I have my "non-pro" on mic stands fairly close to me, I don't need extra volume. If I was starting out I'd get these (non-pro) over the Kali LP6. The transient response and the translation on these (non-pro) are phenomenal match that with the ARC 4 software and you're rocking for a fraction of the price compared to many other speakers twice the size and several times the price!

I'm using a set of powered Behringer B2031 monitors strictly for listening to my guitar (through a headrush digital modeller.) I'm really wondering how these would stack up to the 8'' speaker in the Behringers. I'd really like to downsize but I'm not too thrilled about losing anything tonally.

Would you be able to explain why you would want two separate speakers? How to you connect them as a pair? I plan to use these for gaming and watching movies. I would want these speakers to be working together. Is this done through the calibration process you explained?
@dkpianist3 ай бұрын
The calibration is for room correction (like compensate for boominess). You simply connect them via two cables from your device. You might need a Y-cable if all you have is a single headphone out.

Surely it's just the MTM MKII driver update... of course the IO is slightly different... but that is pretty good because the driver update was a great move. These could make a very small Atmos setup even cheaper... with them being separate now it makes that easier
