1. Consistent shooting form, no dips. 2. Two fingers last to release. 3. Set point lower to get more strength. 4. Smooth shooting form, transfer power. 5. Wrist snap, snap wrist till it faces the ground. 6. 5 in a row range drill.

Thanks Coach Ryan! After I watched this video I sank 8 threes in a row. I do this every day now and are now consistently hitting threes!
@SoTiredButWired4 жыл бұрын
Worked on this a few days ago. Great tips. I've been doing similar shooting drills based on a previous video of yours. I do that "don't miss" drill as well, but slightly different: "If you miss 3 in a row then you run 3 lengths." That helps work on shooting when tired as well. As the shot improves, the less running you end up doing, though, so then you change to 2 lengths if you miss two in a row and then eventually 1 length for every miss (hard) or 5 lengths every time you shoot worse than 7/10, then 8/10, etc.

This is exactly what I needed. I feel that adding range can also help with closer accuracy, say from just inside the 3 point line. I also have a question though, more related to basketball as a whole. I am far from the best shooter and I'm 5'4" however I aspire to be a Point Guard. How can I best increase my vertical and my shooting % without paying large amounts of money. I want to be the best player I can be, however I currently do not make money, my mother is on a budget, and my father does not like spending high amounts of money on others, so programs like Plyovertical are out at least for now. Does anybody have any advice?
@ILB4 жыл бұрын
Not to be overly "promotional" but if you join ilbfree.com you can name your own price for Coach Ryan's ILB Shooting Program! There's a minimum price, but it's very low compared to what most high quality shooting programs will cost. As for jump training, start with the technique, and master your technique. That should be your focus NOW- as it's like increasing your shooting range with bad shooting form... Sure you may improve some- but with perfect form, your range will only increase. Jump training is the same- focus on TECHNIQUE now, and then start adding strength and explosive training. The technique can be improved drastically and QUICKLY- watch some of Coach Steve's videos on the channel recently. Once your technique is on point using KZbin video content (or a program for faster gains)- come hit me up and we can discuss what's the next best step for you Phoenix! We appreciate your comment greatly! Keep working!

@ILB4 жыл бұрын
Work on your shot form with your healthy wrist. Even just working on the follow through with one hand shots and ball handling. Coach Ryan is known for his ability to shoot with both hands! You can do it as well! Many great players can point to a wrist hand, or finger injury as a turning point in their career because their opposite hand got so much better with shooting/ball handling. Take advantage of this time to work on your off hand!

Do everything left handed to get comfortable using it. Brush your teeth, eat, use your phone lefty. The little things will pay off in a big way. Bounce a racquet ball left handed everywhere you go. Play H.O.R.S.E all left handed shots. Hope one of these help someone somewhere.

I looked at the video in slo mo and my guide hand turns left. And I also use it too shoot further and that’s how i normally shoot. I’ve been shooting like that for years. I try to just flick my rist with the ball in my hand, and it’s really hard, and I can’t shoot far at all with that rist. Please respond I’m stressing thinking I’m not gonna be good anymore.

@kimsamuel6214 жыл бұрын
Snap a little bit to the right with pinky slightly up
@donta_viousgalloway34454 жыл бұрын
Think I used to/somewhat still have that problem. I make sure my shot path is straight by putting my shooting hand on top of the ball, and my guide hand under it, but not centered under it. When you lower it that way, then lift it up naturally, your shooting hand should then be under the ball and your guide hand should be on the side of the ball. Make sure that when you shoot, you're not moving your guide hand away from the ball or using it to put force in the shot. The reason my shooting hand would go to the left though would be because I would start my shooting hand on the top right of the ball, and when I shot it, the force would come from my thumb and finger. If you think you are experiencing the same exact problem then you should definitely try it. Let me know if it helped. 👌🏽
