How to get a stunning acoustic/electric tone with the Boss EQ-200 pedal

Learn how to use a Graphic Equalizer to get the best sound out of your acoustics. Using the Boss EQ-200, I'll show you how to get rid of the unpleasant frequencies of your instrument (they all have them).
This new version of the classic Boss effect allows you to store your settings, so you will always have the ideal sound ready to go.
The EQ-200 has two channels of eq in each patch, so you could also set up a boost or alternate tone.
Of course this pedal is also amazing for electric guitars, but that's a whole other discussion........

Great review and demo. It might be good to mention to people where exactly frequencies for notes are in where a typical low resonance in a guitar body is: E 6th 82.4Hz A 5th 110Hz D 4th 146.8 G 3rd 196 B 2nd 246.9 E 1st 329.6 It's also good to know that any note you are having problems with has an octave and that sometimes means removing a little from this frequency as well for a cleaner sound. So if you are having an issue with low A5 at 110 the A3 at 220 also may require a little removal. Because most guitar bodies resonate between G 6th 87.9 and A 5th 110 hitting these first is a great idea. Also there is commonly a ping sound between 1khz and 2khz.

Well my Boss eq 200 turned up today, after a few hours, I have the best tone I’ve ever had, (and I’ve had a few) I can’t quite believe just how much this pedal has helped in finding such a brilliant sound, 10/10 I can’t recommend enough

FIRST LET ME SAY THIS WAS A GREAT VIDEO. THANK YOU. YOU KNOW EQ IS ALWAYS SUBJECTIVE AND DIFFERENT FOR EACH MUSICIAN. PERSONALLY I LIKED THE DEEPER SOUND OF THE GUITAR BEFORE YOU LOWERED THE BASE AND RAISED THE TREBLE. BUT. IT IS REALLY REALLY NICE TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO ADD OR SUBTRACT THE TONES YOU DO OR DO NOT LIKE. I THINK. BUT IN THIS VIDEO I LIKED THE SOULD OF EVERY INSTRUMENT YOU PLATED BEFORE APPLYING THE EQ.

Maxing the gain helps find the problem frequencies easier. Then return the gain back down after .

You can hear each individual string when on, sounds so much better, I’ve been playing guitar 30+ years and never used eq, today I ordered the Boss eq 200 because It sounds really awesome thanks for the demo

Hi thanks for the upload. Nice demo! Just a quick question in live stage setting (these effects always On) especially on EQ pedal- what are good reasons to bring this on stage this if I know that our audio guy is going to finally tweak the EQ anyway in house mixer? (Because I’m both guitar player and sometimes Audio guy). So in live setting- I’m a bit confused with the use of EQ pedal and even simple modulations pedal (reverb chorus delay, just mild settings..not a complex U2, nothing ambient) because new modern branded mixers can deliver these effects anyway in a high quality. Thanks!
