Die Boeing 747, auch Jumbo-Jet in Anlehnung an den Elefanten „Jumbo“, ist ein vierstrahliges Großraumflugzeug des amerikanischen Flugzeugherstellers Boeing, das seit seiner Entwicklung in den 1960er-Jahren über mehrere Jahrzehnte das weltgrößte Passagierflugzeug war. Es absolvierte am 9. Februar 1969 seinen Erstflug und gehört zu den bekanntesten und meistgenutzten Flugzeugen. Die Maschinen werden hauptsächlich für zivile Zwecke eingesetzt. Charakteristisch für die Silhouette der Boeing 747 ist ihr „Buckel“ (Oberdeck), in dem sich über dem Hauptfluggastdeck unter anderem das Cockpit befindet. Das Oberdeck wurde bei den Passagierversionen im Laufe der Entwicklung verlängert und zu einem immer größeren zweiten Fluggastdeck erweitert, das sich in neueren Varianten über das vordere Drittel der Flugzeugkabine erstreckt. Alle Varianten mit langem Oberdeck haben beidseitig große Notausstiegstüren in der Mitte der oberen Kabine.
Von der 747-400-Serie mit ihren verschiedenen Untervarianten wurden insgesamt 694 Stück produziert. Sie ist damit die meistgebaute Variante der Boeing 747. Bis zur Aufnahme des regulären Betriebs des Airbus A380 war die 747-400 das größte Passagierflugzeug der Welt. Sie wurde durch die 747-8 ersetzt, deren Erstflug 2010 stattfand.
Die 400er Serie wurde von Boeing im Oktober 1985 angekündigt, der Rollout erfolgte im Januar 1988 und der erste Flug am 29. April desselben Jahres. Die Musterzulassung mit PW4000-Triebwerken wurde am 10. Januar 1989 erteilt, mit CF6-80C2 am 18. Mai 1989 und mit RB211-524G am 8. Juni 1989.
Sie basiert auf der 747-300, wurde aerodynamisch jedoch komplett neugestaltet. Sie hat eine andere Flügelwurzel und Tragflächen mit 2 m größerer Spannweite und Winglets. Trotz der vergrößerten Spannweite konnte durch die Verwendung von Verbundwerkstoffen und neuen Aluminium-Legierungen das Gewicht der Tragflächen gesenkt werden. Daneben wurde das Cockpit neugestaltet; durch das neue gläserne Cockpit konnte der Flugingenieur entfallen, dessen Aufgaben nun auf die zwei Piloten verteilt waren. Dafür mussten die einzelnen Systeme automatisiert oder vereinfacht werden, die analogen Rundinstrumente wurden größtenteils durch Digital-Bildschirme ersetzt und ein leistungsfähiges Flight Management System eingebaut. Weitere Änderungen umfassten Treibstofftanks im Heck, verbesserte Triebwerke mit elektronischer Triebwerksregelung (FADEC), eine neugestaltete Inneneinrichtung mit im Gegensatz zu den einfachen Bord-Unterhaltungssystemen der 747-300 völlig neuen Ausstattungen mit wesentlich größeren Kapazitäten und Möglichkeiten. Die 747-400-Serie ist aufgrund der verbesserten Triebwerke um 25 % wirtschaftlicher als die ursprüngliche 747-100 und deutlich weniger laut. Sie ist in allen Passagier-, Fracht- (747-400F bzw. 747-400SF) und kombinierten Versionen (747-400M) erhältlich.
Die letzte Bestellung für eine Passagierversion der 747-400 wurde im Dezember 2000 von Qantas für sechs 747-400ER getätigt. Seitdem wurden ausschließlich Frachter der Versionen -400F bzw. -400ERF bestellt.
Am 16. März 2007 gab Boeing bekannt, dass die Produktion der Passagiervarianten der 747-400 mit sofortiger Wirkung eingestellt werde und die letzten vier noch ausstehenden Bestellungen unbekannter Kunden nicht mehr gebaut würden. Zwar nannte Boeing den Namen der betroffenen Fluggesellschaft nicht, aus früheren Veröffentlichungen des Herstellers hervorgehend muss es sich allerdings um einen Auftrag von Philippine Airlines aus dem Jahr 1996 gehandelt haben.
In einigen Konfigurationen genügt die Reichweite der 747-400, um nonstop von New York nach Hongkong zu fliegen, was einem Drittel der Strecke um die Erde entspricht. Im Jahr 1989 flog eine Boeing 747-400 der Qantas nonstop 17.945 km von London nach Sydney. Allerdings war die Maschine nicht beladen und flog nicht auf einem Linien-, sondern einem Testflug. Auch dieser Rekord ist mittlerweile von einer Boeing 777 bzw. Airbus A340 (für vierstrahlige Flugzeuge) überboten worden.
Eine 747-400 besteht aus sechs Millionen Einzelteilen, davon sind allein die Hälfte Befestigungselemente, die in 33 verschiedenen Ländern hergestellt werden.

butterweiche Landung , perfekt gemacht. Für mich alles ideal gemacht, die südländischen Piloten/tinnen sind eben etwas zappeliger und hampeligere, aber das hat gar nichts mit unorganisiert oder unsicher zu tun, dass ist nur eine für uns leicht ungewohnte Körpersprache. A 1994 former Singapore Airlins plane. Plane was stored 12/2018 and scrapped on Teruel. At 7:58 and 8:18 you can see a fan blade that is damaged by a strike but no issue for the engine. Wonder why the captain is both doing take-off and landing, normally you share your duties.

Jajaja. Es el idioma oficial en aviación a nivel mundial. Ten en cuenta que todo lo que ocurre en cabina queda grabado para, en caso de accidente, analizar las conversaciones de la tripulación y la toma de decisiones en vuelo. Es un standard. Pero, tambien es verdad, que las veces que el piloto se dirigia de forma informal a la cámara, lo ha hecho en inglés. Supongo que "exigencias" de la compañia. Por cierto, a lo largo del video la copiloto se ha dirigido al capitán en español durante el vuelo en una ocasión 59:29 aunque acto seguido ha rectificado y se lo ha repetido en inglés. Un saludo.

The 747, also you would not expect this, is a very good glider. You can not really use the Flaps to reduce speed efficiently. So as you are approaching the runway with 800-900 feet per minute sink rate the 4 engines produce so much thrust, even idle, means thrust levers in the position you described, that the aircraft will maintain its speed without your need to push throttles forward. There is another system also behind but i think that is too much info then, its called Flight Idle, means when the flaps reach a certain position the thrust of all 4 engines will increase automatically..but we stop here now i think :)

Der Kapitän wirkt so angespannt, dass sein Blick in allen Richtungen unkontrolliert geht. Man kann ihm ansehen, dass er nichts wahr nimmt. Die Co-Pilotion wirkt konzentriert und ruhig. Bevor sie die Flaps in die Position die der Kapitän raushustet, nimmt sie sich die Ruhe die Geschwindigkeit zu prüfen ob in dieser Phase diese Anweisung von dem Kapitän richtig ist. Sorry, aber ich kann verzerrte Gesichter nicht sehen weil die nichts besser machen wie entspannte Kapitäne.

Ein hoch kompetentes Pilotenteam. Der Captain hat 18.000 Flugstunden Erfahrung; der würde sein "altes 747 - Mädchen" sogar auf einem Feldflugplatz landen ;-). Ich würde jederzeit mit der Crew um die Welt fliegen. ... Toll, machte Spaß zuzusehen.

Great videos. Maybe the radio volume could be reduced. It's a bit harsh when the pilots are talking to each other and the radio is basically YELLING over top of them.

Genial video, genial pilotos. Orgullo de trabajo y exfuerzo. Todo un sueño que ya no podré cumplir. Me hace gracia porque se nota mucho el acento español al hablar en Inglés, en la pronunciación de la letra T que deben estar a medio camino entre la T y la CH, y no lo hacen y en las R que no enmudecen nunca y apenas atenúan....en el momento de despegar ese ROTATE dicho por la copiloto sonando con la R de ratón delata acento latino u hispano. Un acento muy estándar, nada británico, y algo, norteamericano al decir los números por parte del capitán. Eso sí, así para alguien que no sea anglosajón, se entiende mejor. GOD BLESS YOU!!

Lo mismo ocurre cuando un norteamericano o británico habla en español (bueno, los pocos que lo hacen), que su acento inglés es bestial... O un francés hablando español ni le cuento. Todas las personas solemos tener el acento del idioma materno muy marcado y aunque aprendamos otros idiomas se nota. Incluso dentro de un mismo país (también los anglosajones) se nota la zona de procedencia de sus ciudadanos por su acento. Un saludo desde España.

Das ist eine alte Saudi Arabian Airlines Maschine, wie bei Minute 3:40 zu erkennen ist. Nur überlackiert anstatt den alten Lack zu entfernen. Spricht nicht für eine geplante längere Einsatzdauer. Die Schutzverkleidung der Haltestütze ist wohl nur provisorisch instandgesetzt.
