I'm a straight "natural" too. My hair has grown so LONG since I started wearing it straight 24/7. *2021 edit: Hullo, by "natural" I mean I stopped manipulating and adding weaves, even if I look like a bald head skittle diddle sometimes. I just wear my hair. My hair used to break when it was curly. Now I straighten it once and don't touch it for a long time, moisturize it, wrap it and leave it alone! Maybe it *appears* longer, maybe it's Maybelline.

The Head and Shoulders (Royal Line) Scalp Cream is BOMB I SWEAR! I have a REALLY bad scalp like I used to have to wash my hair every 4 days it was so bad. I had those really bad scabs and scales that would get on my scalp even if I didn't even scratch or anything. I started losing hair getting the scales out because my hair would pull from the root smh. NO oil or cream has worked for the last 15+ years. I started using the head and shoulders Scalp Cream about 2 months ago and GIRL...I just put it on my scalp right after I'm done rinsing out my DC. I massage it in and when I tell you I have NO flakes, no itching, nothing for OVER 2 weeks! It's so good my dad even started using it cause his scalp gets bad too. Now at week 2 I just put a little almond oil on my scalp just because I know 7 days of no water/moisture CAN dry it out. But I don't even have to reapply the cream (which of course would cause too much puffiness at the root since it's water based). I cut my hair almost a month ago and decided to start being a straight natural (I'm don't even like straight hair tbh LOL) because I noticed my hair retained better length using the revair to blow dry weekly (very little breakage and ver few SSKs). So I'm like well if my hair is completely straight lemme see if I can prevent even more mechanical damage. And sure nuff my hair has grown an inch already. Do my routine every 2 weeks which WOULD NOT be possible without that scalp cream. I don't even use the whole line. only that product!

It's a Keratin Treatment. Natural's such as myself get it done to loosen the curl pattern to make it easier to manage. But, just like with a relaxer, if you don't get a touch-up your new growth won't match your ends.

Honestly, I’m converting too and I’m a boy and a hairstylist 🤣. Just easier. I do wear my fro from time to time but mostly cornrows, an eco styler bun, or a blowout. Olaplex no 3 has kept my curls in tact (a non issue for me though), it’s also helped with my ends not splitting with the heat. The shampoo and conditioner alone make my actual blow dry shiny and straight af. Decided to try the leave in and honestly didn’t like it. But the oil!!!! Yoooo that right there before you blow dry gives you silky ass results! You can turn the flat iron down just to seal the cuticle or just silk wrap your hair for a couple of min. It’s a life changer and it’s also repairing the broken bonds from the heat. All steps.

Looks so good😍 Do you have any tips on how to maintain a silk press with curls overnight? They always flatten out when I wrap my hair and I haven’t figured out a way to maintain them!

Kay T try pin curls for short hair. If hair has length. Try twisting the hair into a top bun. When released hair should have bounce and curls.
