I asked my husband out. We had a mutual friend on fb that he hit him up asking what my deal was lol! He said he was worried I'd be a catfish! When we met I was working alot, so I really didnt have time to wait around. We were either going to go out, or not. I think he was taken back by me being so upfront. But he was shy, so I think it made things easier. It worked out, we are married now.

Girls will legit have a guy they like, and instead of flirting with him they go flirt with random dudes (or even his homies) right in-front of him. And their explanation for it is that they wanted to make the guy they liked jealous so he’d like them back. I’ve even had this happen to me, but the girl went so far as to date my homeboy because I wasn’t getting the hint, then eventually broke-up with him because I was too supportive of their relationship. This “game” people play is ridiculous.

@@CalamityJane21 Same how some people don't want to fail; this concept is very prevalent in the immigrant community but that is the problem - We should encompass the reality of failure and teach people how to use that experience for something to benefit themselves. Most people see failure and rejection as the end of the world and that is the mindset most perfectionist parents ingrain in their children letting them develop into very insecure adults :(

@Britt Lyn, Aba & Preach uploaded a react video about how women "approach" men a year or so ago. The woman, who was an Asian looking woman, possibly Asian, was giving hints or approaching/attraction hints to a guy and when none of them worked, she got up and walked out of the restaurant, calling the man of her interest on her way out a jerk. How is looking around the place in that guy's direction, possibly hoping that he'll speak or at least look at her, pushing a napkin or handkerchief on the floor, hoping that he'll pick it up and give it to you or stretching your arms behind your back APPROACHING A MAN?!! Who in the hell would interpret those things as an approach or an invitation to approach that woman or ANY woman? Who?! Like Preach said in that video, "USE YOUR WORDS! You're a grown woman. Use your words! Damn! And you have the nerve to get mad and call the guy a jerk? Use your words!" Anyway, you have said that you're not going to do that anymore. Well, it's not me that you need to convince that you can and will use your words to tell a man that you're attracted to that you want to date him, be with him or just have sex with him. Most guys, unlike almost all women, aren't used to being approached by any woman or spoken to by any woman that is attracted to him and would like to explore and enter a relationship with that man, have a one night stand or be sex buddies/friends with benefits. A minority of men have that happen to them often or constantly, but the majority of men rarely, if ever, have that experience of a woman that is attracted to them walk up to them, look in the man's eyes, and say that "I thought you are a very handsome/sexy man and I wanted to take a chance and have a one night stand with you, be your sex buddy, friend with benefits or your girlfriend and I would want you to be mine and be with me." I haven't said anything like this at all ever in my life, but coming from a dude who doesn't like subtle hints of attraction from women and prefers and strives to be direct and honest, even at the risk of not getting the woman that I want, those words can help you if you need or would like words to use in your very next encounter with a man of your interest. You don't have to use exactly those words. They're only an idea or guide for you to think of how you want to express in words how you feel about the man. Just be direct and honest with yourself and with the man in that moment.

People get confused with this. You can be honest about thinking someone is cute or interesting to you, but at the same time you have to be cool because that shows self-respect. Some people are straight up thristy. They come off too strong or put in so much energy and effort when the other isn't at that level yet or at all. And that's a turn off because it makes them look like they have no self-respect or see value in themselves.

Which is the problem with a lot of the ways women flirt. Either the guy is not in a position to know, such as that she's putting more effort than usual into her appearance for you; or it's stuff they do when with friends as well, such as being engaged in the conversation or laughing. And you can't always tell if she's laughing because you're genuinely funny or is trying to endear herself. I work with a woman that will act cute when she's asking me for something that puts me out a little. That could be because she likes me or just how she is with everyone to not come off as demanding.

Yo, that is bad to determine whether they were being flirtatious or extra nice. I had a similar experience where girl explicitly showed me interest to the point where she said in verbatim, " Do you want to be my boyfriend?" Again, I was naive and flew over my head when this occured. Two years later (3rd year at the time), a friend of mine told me that she liked me, I did not even know. Nonetheless, I can imagine how difficult it is read body language. Thanks for the input, G.

@Erika L, as admirable as you may be for doing what you did to your man to attract him in the way that you had, most women are still going to do the "hinty hinty" act, get mad at that man for not knowing that she wants to date/bang him, complain about that man and men in general as a whole, and feel like crap for the rest of the day, night or for however long she allows herself to sulk in pity when she allowed that situation to happen by not doing anything direct and honest at all, but instead assume that men should know women's attraction cues and body language from non attraction cues and body language, which we don't, despite the men that do know, which isn't a lot of men, and women take it for granted. As far as you're concerned in your situation, that wasn't direct with your words, so you still were hinting at your attraction for your man because in that scenario, you did not say that you want to explore a relationship with him, date him or bang him, unless you stated those things later or you're keeping your speech Rated PG or PG-13 for KZbin's censors, but it's probably more applicable to men than women being censored. Anyway, good job on attracting your man, although not entirely direct in the words, unless he knew and noticed what you said and behaved by how you said your words and behaved in your actions. I don't like, do nor pick up on attraction cues from women in their body language, but I can on the non attraction cues. Of course, I'm learning to be more direct and honest with women in expressing my attraction to them and risk being shot down, even if it's a gentle shot down or harsh shot down. Nevertheless, I'm happy for you.

Although one time I was going home from school on the bus, I would have been in like year 7 or 8 and these 2 older girls from like year 10 or 11 came and sat behind me and said "wow, you're so cute, I love your hair, can I touch it?" I said "yeah sure" They continued "Wow your hair is so soft and I love the colour" I was so happy hearing these compliments, the older guys at the back of the bus were all cheering and clapping saying things like "get in there mate, the older girls like ya, woohoo" The girls said "come sit up the back of the bus with us, we'll look after you." So I went up there and hung out with them, chatting and was such a kool experience, I had no idea how to engage in any sort of relationship or anything, so nothing came of it. I don't think they were actually looking to date me, more so just thought I was cute and wanted to tell me, who knows maybe they wanted to boost my confidence.

We’re still good friends to this day and I felt so happy when he told me afterwards, “I really appreciate you for having the courage to tell me this. You’re a really great person.” He gave me a hug and he was really sweet. Not all rejections are bad. Go shoot your shot and don’t be scared of the results. That's because were taught it doesn't happen by society and that if it does, they're just messing with us. Not to mention we get rejected so often, most of us don't see ourselves as capable of being desirable enough that a girl/woman would go out of her way to approach us. Not to mention how insanely rare it is for us to get a compliment, unless you're movie star/model grade in looks. Even then the compliments tend to seem halfhearted, just a plain statement by a friend type. Like "yeah, yeah. You're handsome."

I didn’t know she had as strong feelings (even stronger) for the way I act and am! Especially when she was nervous about meeting my family because she’s black, I told that to my mom, and my mom wants to meet her even more because of the way she treats me and loves me! So skip several years down the road, she's still the cutest girl I've ever met, and I still have a massive crush. We're older now, so I get her number, and we finally get to know each other. I spent a solid couple months playing this "coy" (stupid) game where I'd tell her about this super pretty girl that I had a major crush on, so I could eventually tell her that the mystery girl was her all along. I thought I was being smart. Nah, I was being a coward. A stupid coward. She rejected me of course. But ever since then I've promised myself that if I ever meet another girl that I like, I'm not going to be a coward and be upfront about my interest. Learn from my mistake fellas. As a man who suffered from severe anxiety I can kind of see where these guys come from. I over came my own issues but my advice would be say fuck it. Yoire gonna embarrass yourself and get rejected. What I learned as I kept going was it gets easier, then your game gets better. I also became much more social as a person in general doing this and in my life personally I felt just better. Talked to people and girls with ease now. Also workout. It isnt for everyone but I got really into MMA and self trained and that helped me as a bonus to my confidence. Also started noticing when women were checking me out and when they'd hit on me. Takes time trust me. Shit didn't happen over night for me but put in the work and you'll reap the rewards. Got to say fuck it and just throw yourself out there.

Instead talk to her, make her laugh, ask for a date but never utter the words ''I like you'' or something similar.

It’s actually hard working on confidence, tbh idk how some people the same league as me have so much confidence in themselves. I’ve always had problems like these and it feels like sort of a cycle, I don’t show my feelings for a girl, I eventually lose my chance, I lose more confidence in myself, so I don’t want to show my feelings for a girl even more. I’m turning 19 soon and so far I haven’t gotten close to getting a significant other.

Confidence is a lot easier to master than people think. It's all in the body language. Stand with good posture, make eye contact when you talk to a person, and smile. (If you got a creepy smile then try a grin.) If you keep that up, you'll look confident on the outside. And if you look confident on the outside, you'll feel confident on the inside. Fake it till you make it.

@@4xdblack you see, that isn’t necessarily true. At least in my case, so many females and males have brought me down, calling me feminine or saying that I look like a child. I don’t think that females would want a feminine looking child and it just brings me down. I even considered becoming trans since so many people viewed me as feminine. I also considered becoming gay since my father would always question my sexuality that it would make me question myself. I eventually threw the idea of becoming gay and trans because they were based on what others thought of me. I don’t see myself as masculine, but I don’t feel feminine so I didn’t become trans. I also like girls so I didn’t become gay, but at the end my confidence is still low.

My brother is a pretty shy guy himself and I’ve always told him that rejection sucks, but if you never speak up, you will never get what you want. And mostly, if you approach a girl and ask her out and yes like 90% of the time it will be a no, she will at least be polite, given that you asked politely, at the very least you’ve confirmed, rather then hating that you never took the risk. We all face rejections in life, but growth is about bouncing back for failure, and if you’re getting 100% no all the time, then it’s time to took a good look at yourself and figure what it is that makes you undesirable, ask around, people will tell you what you need to change. Even for women it’s the same, lots of the women who end up with shitty boyfriends, end up with shitty boyfriends because they wait to be choose rather than choose. When you make the ask, the ball is in your court.

I have extreme troubles finding confidence in myself, like how am I all of a sudden supposed to be confident? As you can possibly tell by the pfp, Im a nerd and have nothing masculine about me. Many people have told me that I look and act very feminine and it brought my confidence down a lot. There was even a point in my life where I thought about being trans since everyone viewed me as feminine. I even questioned my own sexuality since my father always asked me if I was gay because he thought I did things that he viewed as gay. I eventually threw those thoughts away because they were based on what others viewed me as, I don’t feel very masculine, but I don’t feel feminine at all. I also very much like girls, so not gay. @@robertoortiz1210 even if you’re not confident there must be something that you’re good at, even if you’re not good at anything, there must be something you like right? You said you’re almost 19, so you’re still very young and if I could give advice as an older sister I recommend you focus on yourself and build up confidence first. If you’re struggling with your identity a relationship will only make it worst, people bring their best and worst into relationships and if you are not strong in yourself the relationship will most likely just break you down further. If you have no confidence, start from a place where you feel the most comfortable. You said that you’re a nerd so maybe you have a subject that you excel at or even a hobby, gain a foothold from there, bring the confident feeling you have in that and start to expand that to other areas of your life. It’s going to be extremely difficult, I promise you, but think of the alternative, being stuck in a place where nothing changes your whole life, which is worst? Look for mentors, read books, start interacting with people ( at a pace in which you’re only mildly uncomfortable) offline. Luckily, if confidence doesn’t come naturally, you can build it as a skill. Think of it like learning to talk, or walk, or write, all of it was hard at one point and you keep practicing and even if you’ll never be amazing, you’ll be decent, you can do a whole lot with decent. Also a balance person is both masculine and feminine, it’s something that the older generation overlooked and ours is only starting to learn.

I agree with y'all that if you like someone doing little coy hints aren't gonna be useful and you shouldn't get mad that they didn't get them but some people like me have genuine communication dissorders and issues. I'm autistic, have extreme social anxiety that's so bad I can get panic attacks just from women talking to me extremely forward and that's on medication. So for people like me we can't just go up and tell them either so I wonder where does that leave me. I don't believe giving small coy hints will tell them but also I struggle to even communicate to most women.

Here's the thing most people in general are going to be weirded out when a FIRST happens. First day of school, first time having sex, first time driving. I would assume the first time a woman got asked out by someone they didn't notice before they were awkward about it to. Chances are if the guy isn't within the 7-10 range on the looks scale, he's never been asked out before. Just add their awkwardness into your game plan of asking them out. Expect and work with it.
