The CPU finish times are typically correct but are very wrong on some specific tracks. Tracks like Grumble Volcano, Rainbow Road, and N64 Bowser’s all have slower finish times than what the minimap shows, while Coconut Mall has much faster times

@@symptomofsouls Correct, although the time requirements aren't just raw time. Actions such as landing hits with strategic items (ones that take some skill to get a hit with, such as green shells, bananas, fake item boxes, etc.) give you a time bonus, along with non-strategic items (red shells, blue shells, POW blocks, etc.). However, hitting walls or falling out of bounds will increase the effective time. Offroad is a little different, IIRC while on offroad you get a 2.5x time multiplier for the time you remain on it *unless* you have some boost active while on offroad. AFAIK there are 3 different course performance tiers, and the main target is getting first place and meeting the first effective time requirement on each course in a cup. You can still get an E even if you get first place on every race, which I typically get while playing on a 99,999cc mod. There should be some video explaining how to get 3 stars on every cup, but KZbin doesn't like it when you post links and I don't have the link to said video, so you'll have to search it up.

I would highly recommend that you try out a nunchuck for this game. It is a lot easier to control, and you are able to multitask so much easier and do some of the things that you couldn’t in the video. Personally, I think this would really help because when I switched to a nunchuck, I maxed out all of my accounts and enjoyed the game a lot more

He was actually in 8th place when he opened the item box, and that is the rarest placement to get the bullet bill with only a 10% chance of obtaining it. Then he caught up to 6th place after he got the item box, so he got really lucky with the item probabilities. The video is cut off at that moment when he received the item box, so it just seemed like he got the bullet bill in a higher position.

Two tips for the game are if you do fall off you can press acceleration as you land to get a boost, and with a bike you can shake your controller up to do a wheelie when on a straight part for more speed.

Here some tips that may improve your gameplay: _1: when you get a hit from a shell or banana or going to grass and sand, try to hold 1 and 2 buttons in the same time, that will charge your acceleration to arrive to max speed and return to the race so fast. _2: if you get a mushroom, keep it until you reach the first to dodge the blue shell when it come. _3: Drop fake boxes where mystery boxes excited to trick your enemies. _4: when you use a bike in a race, shake your controller to do speed up move (this advanced tip you don't have to do it anyway). _5: focus on the speed and weight and drift when you choose a kart (the rest of stats doesn't have importance). Advice: Pick a vehicle with a lower top speed. For some reason in Mario Kart Wii, high top speed =slow acceleration making it harder to recover from being hit, (Vehicles like the Mach Bike or Wild Wing) and lower top speeds =faster acceleration and a better chance to recover from hits.(Vehicles like Classic Dragster or Sugarscoot) There are also vehicles that have a perfect balance between speed and acceleration such as the standard karts.
