I think Singed (the Doctor that made Vander into what he is now) injected Vander with the orange mixture he mixed earlier on the way to inject Vander before Cait choked him out. It's definitely orange in color and matches what he's coughing up and keeps coming out of him.

Some other youtuber pointed out that salo (legless rich guy) was not breating when talking to jayce. The hextec room thingy is cold and we can see jayce, ekko and heimer breath when they are inside it but not Salo's also A selfsentered rich guy would not nécarly be so nice even after getting saved,i think it is possible that Victor is killing them and that the hexcor is emulating a personality for his folower so that Victor does not realise it Also when victor see warwick, he and sky aka the hexcor are thinking "excuisit" (delicious), when vi jinx and isha arrive he is interested olny in jinx joining his group saying it's for her mecanic skills but victor is a better mecanic than her, I think Victor and sky are eating the shimer infected livig beeing or replacing them whit parts of hexcor consiousness and thas why jayce is seeing the Victor folower as purple amorfous beeing and is on a quest to kill his best friend

another detail: They deliberately showed Vi and Jinx eating the fruits but they have never once shown one of the healed people eating anything - maybe in their state they no longer have the need to consume sustenance, this aligns with the fact that they are no longer breathing.

48:32 how i saw the whole vander melting scene, was that while viktor was trying to heal him in his consciousness and his mind was that he was seeing both the monsters mind which was really aggressive and almost like hot and melting (?) and with viktor basically dying, it was like vander is regressing back to that beast side of him is coming out in full terror--and it's almost like a visual outlook for the viewers that he's essentially fighting his demons (hence why it almost looks like he scratches himself in the beginning of this all happening)

They purposely show you Vander glowing red throughout act 2 bc his instinct for blood and being fully control by it. That's why the eyes change from both glowing red to blue and green eyes, the lava-like fluid is chemicals burning bc of Singed serum. The show tells and show you why and when he made it and is colored orange. later they show you Singed just standing in the broken hut where Vi, Jinx, n Cait left both Vander and Singed alone. It's not bc of Viktor getting shot Vander was never a part of the hive mind like Salo or Huck to react in anyway, at best he would've just be knocked out like the rest of the cult giving Singed a chance to inject Vander
