I own a Toyota 86 as well. Install an unequal intake manifold with an overpipe to unleash the boxer rumble sound of the engine. Highly recommended! But if you're thinking of installing turbos, then an equal intake manifold sounds right. Looking forward to see the build Mat! Onwards and upwards!

I find out myself that when your car judders like that, it's to do with the air intake system. My car had a pipe that had come off, and the ECU didn't know how much air was coming in, so it stuttered around until it went into limp mode where I could at least drive it somewhere to fix it. Always carry your tools with you 😂👍 that 2nd hand MAF could easily be faulty as well. Cheeky sods charging you £50. I wonder if you can clean MAF sensors? I'm sure there's something on my Audi that people clean for air-intake. But there are about 3 air sensors. I'm waffling, innit 😊

I'm sure after 3 years you've figured it out, but until you install unequal length headers, you have a torque dip between 3-4k rpm, stay up towards your red line and she's quicker on acceleration.
