I'm glad you are trying to do better on your own. I suffered from depression for years. The doc put me on a mild antidepressant (no it didn't make me a zombie). Over a period of 3 wks I could see I was feeling better. I stayed on them for a few years, until I was able to change what was happening in my life. At age 65, I am now a happy, loving, peaceful human. Been off my antidepressants for 20 years! Good luck in your endevour.

@@bar-pet It's funny, but my mental health has taken huge nosedives whenever I've fallen off the veggie diet waggon. I know so many others that experience the the same, but i also know a few who have felt their best on the keto diet. I still eat eggs, and a poke bowl once in a long time, but otherwise plant based. Everyone's body is different, and we are omnivores, so it's just trial and error for us all 🤍🙏🕊

I think its awesome that your incorporating whole fresh foods into your daily life! When I was a baby I used to vomit a lot, like projectial vomit! My pediatrician told my mom to put me on " NON FAT/ skim milk" Mom said it worked! A tip, when the meds your taking now cause you to feel jittery or some how? Your body is telling you to eat first before taking. Don't forget to inhale deeply and slowly, methodically. That helps your lungs and it requires brain thought. It also takes your mind off of unnecessary thinking. I'm happy that your taking time out for you. People need to do that so much more now a days. Swimming, hiking, fishing, camping, what ever you enjoy doing to decompress. This will sound strange but I watched a video on Y.T. and its the Cold Plunge. However no one needs to dunk entire body into a cold bath tub. But.. fill kitchen sink w/ water, with cold water and dunk your head into the cold water. This reduces any feeling of anxiety or tention from everyday life. It drops it at the speed of lightening. 30sec or less depending on how much can be tolerated is all it takes. Don't go overboard with it though. Incorporate more fish into your diet even if it tuna fish. Fish is excellent for the brain. Thats so cool that you found 2 sand dollars! I think your going to get your health right, it just takes time, as long as it takes? Everyone is different. Peace & love.

Looking good. Glad you are feeling so much better. FYI: Calcium supplements can definitely cause digestive issues-- painful gas, cramping, bloating. I've tried so many calcium supplement delivery methods and every time, I just can't tolerate calcium supplments. I"ve never had any other digestive issues in my life except calcium supplements. Best to get your calcium through food (and NOT not just dairy has it. Check it out.) Tums /Rolaids are loaded with more calcium. I'd definitely cut back. The magnesium, on the other hand, is great for muscle comfort and heart health. Thanks so much for sharing your life with all of us. We love you.

Thank you for opening the conversation about emotional/ mental health. It’s important & shouldn’t be seen as dirty little secret. VitD is an excellent recommendation. Many people are unknowingly deficient & can have many symptoms. I also take B6 &12. Tips for anxiety: the tapping technique, actually works. Can be found online easily. And meditation, absolutely works. For someone that is a pleaser of others, meditating is a set amount of time for yourself to clear your mind, cleanse your thoughts. Wishing you continued healing & health. Many of us have you in our thoughts and prayers.🌺

I’d like to suggest a channel I frequently watch belonging to Barbara O’Neill, is so informative, yesterday she was talking about morning sickness, something I suffered with throughout my pregnancies all day long, and she says it’s because of low magnesium! At age 80 I won’t be trying to find out if that’s true, but what a simple solution for something that can lead to hospitalization. She speaks on a variety of topics and for some reason I just believe her! I think it would be beneficial to check her channel out Al. And I think I probably told you that the first time I was aware that something was wrong with me because I just felt sad so much, I was 8. I tried explaining it to my Mom, and she said oh you’re just down in the dumps. There was no mention of depression at that time. Now we can speak freely about it, and seek help for it. No need to ever apologize, you didn’t cause it. 😊

Hi Al. I turned off restricted mode again so I can make a few comments. First, you mentioned that your stomach was giving you trouble before. Did you ever get tested to see if you had the Alpha Gal Syndrome from tick bites? I got that and found I could no longer eat certain meats. Doing so will give me terrible stomach problems. I hope that isn't your situation. Second, you've been very brave and honest to share your situation with anxiety and depression. I can sympathize because I have bipolar depression along with anxiety and some other things. Most of my life I went undiagnosed. After I got married, my wife told me one day that she never knew what was going to walk through the door when I came home. It made me sad to hear that. So I started getting help. Life isn't perfect, but it is much better. Anyway, I love you and all that you are doing. I'll be turning back on restricted mode again. It helps me not see certain content that I'd rather not see on KZbin. However, it stops me from seeing or making comments on good and clean channels like yours. So it is a double edged sword in a way. Anyway, take care and keep up the great work!

HI Al, when you cut out so many things all at once, your body will probably crave what you've taken away, especially sugar. Your brain craves sugar so maybe find it in local honey for nearby hives - orange blossom honey is absolutely the best! You guys have enough space that you might consider some backyard chickens. Chicken eggs from a private source tend to be more nutritious than eggs from an egg farm (store bought). Plus, they eat every tiny bug that may be living in your grass. Good job on your regiment! I'm hoping you find the answers that you need and I commend you on getting on top of it.

Hey Brother… Look into the gut benefits of Arugula over spinach and other leafy greens. Also if you eat salads.. Pay attention to how various foods actually interact with each other. Example: Tomatoes and cucumbers should not be eaten together. Each triggers different enzymes to digest and when eaten together it’s counterintuitive and causes stomach pains.
