Here are all the items you need:
online bought apple bluetooth card
T-10 and T-6 screwdrivers
15 min of free time
This will also work for all the following models:
2009 iMac 21.5"
2010 iMac 21.5"
2011 iMac 21.5"
Or any A1311 bluetooth card
This process takes takes about 10-20 minutes depending on experience.
If you don't have another computer at your disposal a great suggestion is to follow the video on your smart phone as you repair the macbook.

Hey there! I have a mid 2011 imac 21.5" and I was wondering if it would be possible to replace my Bluetooth card for a newer 5.0 model. I don't care about having AirDrop, I just wanted to have less latency while using 5.0 bluetooth in ear monitors. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Thought I'd give someone here some hope. My personal experience was with the same model iMac pictured in this video. I was able to remove the Bluetooth module and "reflow" it on my repair bench. You can replicate this somewhat at home by using a hair dryer however it is a bit dicey. The point is the devie needs to be heated up to the point of solder "wicking". I have had this same success with many Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other wireless standard modules in my line of work. Give this method a shot before outright replacing the module in question. I've been researching something like t your trip for a GPU since my iMac's display is acting weird, after reading you comment I think I will remove the bluetooth, GPU, and any other stuff I can think of and bake them all!

I have a problem, i changed the RAM on my 21.5 imac, after that i stared having problem with the Bluetooth signal, my mac can't find bluetooth devices. I replaced the wifi airport card and still it keeps looking for bluetooth devices but nothing shows up, only the Wifi works perfectly, no problems with the wifi signal. Please help me out, what it can be ? Antennas ??? Anyone around here please help...
