Mac Pro WiFi Bluetooth Upgrade 1

The parts and preparation for upgrading the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in a 5,1 Mac Pro.
Generally followed this guide: crystalidea.co... but found that the bluetooth antenna was too weak.

Your soldering might improve if you use solder that has lead in it.

Hi,i love your content you made my mac way better than it was before. I would really appreciate if you could help me with my mac pro .I’ve bought all the things and installed them just the way you did but my mac wont pick up the wifi card in the other hand bluetooth is recognized but wont connect to anything. Again I’m a huge fan of yours I would love to see more of your vidoes.

Kyung Soo Kim, thank you for the kind words. I'm not sure that I will be able to help but will try. Have you tried a PRAM reset since installing the new card? As for Bluetooth, did you install an external Bluetooth antenna? I didn't have any success with the internal Bluetooth antenna but could only connect when devices were close, and the side panel was taken off. What OS are you running?

My MacBook is a 15" MacBook Pro a1278 in 2009, is it possible to upgrade to Bluetooth 4.0 or higher?Can't I hand-off the old Macbook? I think it works in Sierra, but not in Ventura

Hi, have the same card installed and my 5.1 sees the card in system report, but no network is showing up. what could be wrong? Monterey installed with opencore. Thanks!

Have you tried an NVRAM reset? Antenna connections good? Can’t think of anything else to try. If you’re on Mac Pro Upgrade Facebook group, you can search there.
