It makes me so mad as well. I saw a video a while back of some girl that had one of those foxes. It was a small white fox (Ican't remember the exact name) ... and she was forcing him to eat vegan. Almost 2 years ago, we took in a higher content wolfdog. His owner was living in an apartment in the OC. Wolfdogs eat a largely raw meat diet. When we tried to feed him, he didn't know what the meat was! He would sniff all around the meat and eat all the veggies off the plate. I asked his owner what his diet was previously...she informed me that he was "raised vegan" and ate mostlt rice, pumpkin and veggies. It took over 6 months for him to be comfortable with eating raw meat. He ended up dying of Addison's Disease at the age of 2 and always had digestive issues.

Not possible, likely. Most fish eat other fish as their staple diet. They have even found fossilized skeletons of a fish within a fish, within another fish. People like that always project their own fantasies onto animals thinking the life cycle is some unnatural thing. Animals kill; for food, competition and fun. Plants kill too. Like vine plants, oak trees, pitcher plants, etc. Murder hornets kill entire swarms of bees, and certain insects do cruel things that give me nightmares. Do humans do cruel things? Yes. Should we do better since we can? Yes. Are we the only thing that is "cruel"? No. Should we hate or force our ways upon the rest of the world just because it bothers us? No, and a person should go find something more meaningful in life to do if they actually waste their time and energy on something that is both normal, and frankly beneficial, to the planet.

Technically, cats are obligate carnivores so must eat meat to survive but dogs are not. While not recommended, a dog can live off a vegan diet, as long as they have the correct nutrition in their food. Likely, that woman's dog is being forced on a vegan diet.

Imagine FORCING your CARNIVORE cat to be vegan. Plant based pet feed supplement nutrients from meat with plant based ingredients, making them adequate. I myself don't know much about pet care or dieting but there are other vegan activists who do. An ethically focused individual should prioritize commercializing and increasing the demand for synthetic plant based feed so that farmed animals won't have to be slaughtered for them. Of course a cat can't digest plants, that's why we artificially make them digestable. We ideally shouldn't be breeding and overpopulating domesticated pets to begin with, they deserve to be wild animals who can hunt on their own without us killing for them, but now that we reached the point of no return we have to prioritize increasing plant based feed demand.

Artificially created plant based feed supplement nutrients from meat using plant based ingredients. All nutrients and proteins are taken from plant and fungal sources, one way or another they're synthesized so as long as they're made with the necessary amounts of each essential nutrient, there's no issue. Sadly they're not highly commercialized but if we increase demand for them they can be so widespread. We stop the pet breeding industry we won't have to kill farmed animals to feed the ones who can otherwise hunt or scavenge on their own. Domestication is inherently harmful for animals so it's not something we should have done in the first place. But since we have so many pets in captivity already we have to prioritize increasing demand for plant based feed, so that livestock won't have to be farmed and slaughtered to feed pets.

My dog does actually enjoy vegetables. Her favorites are whatever I offer her directly from my hand... She usually gets some kind of veggie with her dinner that consists of a bowl full of meat. Sometimes she will eat the veggie first (she's a fiend for bell peppers) but it's pretty clear that chicken, duck, or turkey bones (uncooked) are her favorite part of dinner followed closely by red muscle meat.

@@foolishlyfoolhardy6004 Dogs can live on only meat. They don't need to eat other things but unlike cats they can digest vegetables, fruits, and grain. But they can't live on only vegetables for more than a few weeks or it will start to have a detrimental effect. In the wild they mainly eat berries and vegetables to extend periods between hunts. Dogs don't eat grains in the wild but some of their prey do, and they then consume their stomach content. A small amount of greens can be beneficial but that is usually already included in regular dry dogfood. Generally you don't need to worry about feeding your dog anything but meat, but you can.

In our (Hindu) family, we all are vegetarians and my father is a very religious person. But still, he never forgets to bring dog food, eggs and so on for our Lhasa apso and he'd go as far as to even boil eggs for her even though I've never seen him do anything like that for us😭. So these people are trash for forcing an animal to leave behind their ways and follow them, it's good if you're doing that but if you force your pet to do the same it's the total opposite of what you're trying to achieve 👽

The first dog we adopted when my husband and I married was sadly on a vegetarian diet for a long time. He began having food allergies when he was close to a year old, so we had to try various foods with only two ingredients in the kibble (lamb and rice, venison and sweet potato, etc) but he was still having an allergic reaction and his hair was falling out. We had to feed him vegetarian kibble to see if that would help and it did, his hair grew back in and he was fine. But after a few years, he wasn’t digging the food anymore, so we started slowly introducing the meats back into his diet and he was fine. He just outgrew the allergy I guess. And this was all monitored by a vet, this want something we did on our own. We were baffled, to be honest. The dogs we have now get kibble that’s grain free and moist fix that’s meat and veggies. The cats get kibble because neither of them like moist food much, but I do get them a special fancy one for Christmas that has meat and veggies. I always try to incorporate both and none of the pets seem to mind the veggies as long as there’s some sort of meat juice on them. Except my one corgi… He’ll eat veggies because he likes them. If I’m making salad, I have to toss him lettuce and baby spinach. He eats cooked carrots off your fork. He even likes apple slices. Then again, he eats poop, so he doesn’t have a discerning palate 😂

We had a dog that was terribly allergic to grains or even meat from animal's fed grains. It was so bad that she was bleeding internally. She was put on steroids which was fantastic (sarcasm), as she was a traumatized collie mix from the shelter and was a bit nuts. That was a joy to solve and live with. We had to find food made from wild fish and peas. Otherwise she had to eat the same food as we did.

Well usually they get the pet before going vegan and instead of letting the pet live as it is required to do, they try to make their pet vegan too. If you find yourself in a moral issue of feeding a carnivore pet, adopt the pet out to someone who will have no problem feeding them what they need and adopt a naturally vegan pet if you want pets. Plenty of naturally vegan pets out there needing a home.

Thankfully a lot of adoption shelters are getting more and more strict with who they let adopt pets (like turning away people that want to declaw cats upon asking if it’s something they plan to do to the animal when it comes to the questions on forms - well, at least the shelters that aren’t all about churning out animals to anyone and everyone will). I also think that we also need to also do away with breeders. They attract the worst types of pet owners as a whole anyways. We’ve got enough animals in shelters in desperate need of a good home that will be just as loyal and loving, yet people would rather go out and pay hundreds of dollars to have a “special” pet that looks or behaves a certain way for the “aesthetics” - like treating an animal like an accessory for status as opposed to wanting to genuinely own and take care of a pet. Yes, it’s important to understand different breeds and their behaviors that are naturally bred in them, and it’s crucial to make sure the right breed is going with the right type of person that can properly take care of them as well as the environment that they will be in … but the shelters are overrun with so many breeds that we simply do not need to be churning out more constantly. Take a stroll in a local shelter and look at all the various breeds of animals that have been abandoned or taken from horrible homes. We don’t need more that will just end up there. Instead, people need to start going for the ones we already have in there that are in desperate need of care and attention.

I'm a vegetarian. I have a cat and two dogs. Cats are carnivorous. Yes they will eat grass to help purging their stomach but they NEED meat to function. Dogs are more omnivorous bc they adaptated to human company/eating habits for so long. My kitty only eats M E A T. My dogs are eating M E A T *and* some rice/pastas or veggies/fruits (mixed with M E A T) sometimes. Like, my female dog loves pears and apples and my male dog used to chew on carrots like a bone when he was a baby lmao 😂 But their diet is mostly meat-based. Don't force your beliefs on anyone/anything, especially when it comes to actual HEALTH ISSUES and PHYSIOLOGY. I can totally function out of eggs, dairy and lentils most of the year but he just *cannot*.
