Student nurse here: Botox scares me because it is literally botulism! Like the woman that had severe complications has, if it is accidentally injected into the bloodstream, it can cause systemic paralysis and even death due to respiratory failure (not being able to breathe using respiratory muscles).

The poison is always in the dose. You would need a lot of Botox to cause that to occur or to take in in airborne/orally. The cases where this has happened was for non regular botox areas like the legs, esophagus or spasticity when people need 100-300 units injected in many vascular sites a couple days apart which elevated the risk of getting into the bloodstream. This is not anywhere near the standard facial application. which range from 10-80 units per session with careful application ever 3-6 months

*ESTHETICIAN here of almost 20 years.... I can honestly tell you that there is no device that will snatch your face like whatever vibrator she was using with an LED light. I can also tell you that giving an injection of Botox in the wrong spot where these poor people's eyes are literally drooping, that is not normal. That is a sign of somebody that is completely unprofessional and worries me very much so how they got their degree and license. I tried to tell people before they go and get work done that if they are positive and that they have thought this through, then okay. But if it's somebody where I can tell that they're very hesitant, it is best not to do it but to let them think on it for a little longer to see if it's something that they really do want. This ruins your skin, it ruins your last to see and to be very blunt, you will never look the same again and your skin will never be the same again. Aging is a luxury and it's a privilege, lines like smile lines don't make you old. And that is what so many people are focusing on. People are focusing on quite literally taking out the maps of their face which are their smile and laugh lines. And honestly breaks my heart that so many people are that insecure and here I am a 43-year-old woman almost, who hasn't done anything to her face but just take care of it, I still look younger than the generations that are below me. Stop fucking with your faces🤦🏼‍♀️*

I was bedridden/housebound, for a near decade, from 26-34(ish) - where I lost a lot of muscle mass. And because of how bad my environment was, also - where it’s as if I didn’t use many of my face muscles, to do things, such as smile and laugh - my face muscles became weak, and I looked so deflated and tired; as well as had dark circles, under my eyes. I had horrible skin issues, from liver disease, though, thankfully - much of that has healed, quite well, with minimally noticeable scarring, though, I do have skin fibrosis from excessive exposure to barium contrast, in CT scans. So, even though I have always been very weary of fillers and Botox (yet, my mother gets it done a few times a year) - knowing I have fibrosis, I’m not sure how something like that would be affected. I was thinking cheek implants may help, though, that would be quite some time before I could afford something, such as that. I, recently, also, started physical therapy to begin rehabilitating my body, from muscle and skeleton issues - I thought “If I can strengthen my body muscles - why not my face muscles?” So, I looked into it - and began “face yoga.” It’s been just about two weeks, now. And goodness gracious, I just looked in the mirror, even after sleeping a few hours, when I am the most deflated looking - and my face is noticeably more lifted and full; where even a patch of fine lines, from where I had slept so much, while ill, is nearly entirely gone. And I have only used retinol twice, now, (which, I had diluted with moisturizer) which, was only this week - so, I know the results I am seeing are from my efforts in strengthening my face muscles. I’ve always had very deep forehead wrinkles - being I have had life-long Cushing’s Syndrome (excessive exposure to cortisol; high estrogen, low progesterone), and grew up in a very volatile household, so, my eyebrows were always anxiously raised. I had my cosmetology instructor make a comment about ‘em - when I was freakin’ 19. Even those lines seem to be softening, thanks to the facial exercises, I’ve been doing. And that’s super helpful, also, being I have very heavy hooded eyes, and am sensitive to bright lights - so, I squint and hold a lot of tension, in my forehead. I feel like I belong in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, sometimes - and I wouldn’t even need to do the vampire SPFX make-up. I’m only sharing all this, because so often we hear the only way to solve the issues, such as what I have dealt with - are through fillers, Botox, beauty/skincare products/professional procedures, and plastic surgery. Though, that is not true, in the slightest. I always wonder how many people even realize this, and choose the aforementioned options because they are lazy - or because they, truly, have zero clue, what is possible with a few minutes a day, of facial exercises? I mean, it takes less time than going and getting it done - and is free, compared to several hundred dollars, every few months. Either way, if I have gotten these amazing results, in only two weeks - I am so excited to see what things will look like in a month, 6 months, and a year. EDIT: Also, increasing my water uptake has been noticeably beneficial, as well.

I am not saying in anyway I look better or am better than people who choose to do these things like botox and fillers but I feel sad for them that they cant accept their own natural beauty. I am 43 and know of girls in their early 20s who have had botox! For what? Like what is wrong their is nothing to fix they have beautiful faces and skin and even if they were 60 they still have beautiful faces and skin. The most beautiful and happiest women I know are those who have never had injections or done things to their face. They don't even wear makeup. I mean do what makes you happy but you are beautiful the way you are you don't need any of this stuff.

I used to get botox for my migraines and EVERY DAMN TIME, the neurologist would not listen when I told them that my left eye would droop so bad it would affect my vision. So I finally stopped getting them because they stopped working anyway. But initially, having relief from my frequent migraines was worth the vision issue for a couple months. OMG MY AD WAS FOR BOTOX 😂😂 I have had Botox for migraines before. You get 30 to 40 Botox injections in your face, scalp, and neck. It's not much in each but it's in a lot of places. It did not help mine, it made them worse. I really didn't want to even try but it was a last resort. Luckily it went ok. It's scary how many people are "certified" to do this. Where I live they are doing it in salons and everything. There are people giving iv there too. It's super strange to me. SUPER HAPPY that you got your first sponsor! Congratulations!! I had some bad filler. It fell from my upper cheek near my temple to under my eye. I walked around for almost 2 years seeing many doctors cause my original doctor that did it said it was water retention. I said under 1 eye???? She finally sent me to an eye surgeon who I told I think it was from my filler. He then (which my original doctor could have done) referred me to an excellent cosmetic surgeon. He injected under & beside my eye. The next day it dissolved but for a while my skin was saggy there. I’d seen my original doctor many times & never had any problems. That particular day the issue happened I felt the fluid going in which never happened before & I had to ask if she was going to fill in a gap on the corner of my eye. She did but a month later I was swollen & had to wear my hair over that eye for a long time. I still see her for Botox but never will I let her inject me with filler. She’s done a crappy job on my lips all 3 times I had them done. If I’m going for filler of any type I’m going back to the cosmetic surgeon office where many of my eyelash clients go & where they made me look normal again. I don’t like wrinkles & I know I’ll eventually get a face lift. No bbl for me. I’ve had other work done. Small butts are coming back in style lol.

THANK GOD THIS IS WHAT POPPED UP WHEN I SEARCHED UP IF ITS LEGAL IN MY STATE They're not legally allowed to inject. In New Jersey, your provider needs to be an ARNP, PA, or Physician (DO/MD) to inject Botox for cosmetic or medical purposes (per the board of medicine).
