Nice conversation 😊 And talking about imagery and the song you shared from Geet Gaya Patharone, Saanson ki taar par, my mind went to another song by the same Hasrat Jaipuri in Mere Huzoor: saans ki laye pe tera naam liye jaoonga, Gham uthaane ke liye…and it’s him again in Daag: Gham ke baadal ik janaaze ki tarah thehre hue, hichkiyon ke saaz pe kehta hai dil rota hua…Koi naheen mera is duniya mein. And also the song from Daag. Ufff...! Mere mehboob tujhe meri Mohabbat ki kasam is a story in verse which you can see in your mind's eye. We were really spoilt for choices - which song to pick, which to skip. So we stuck to a song a poet format. What to do... so many timeless songs soaked in imagery. Thank you for the encouragement. Awesome podcast! Imagery in Hindi songs has been present all through the 50s-70, but it feels special to have them reviewed the way you have done. The songs have struck an emotional and consoling chord in the heart. Poets have a vivid repertoire of colourful imagery. Sharvari and Antara.. you have enriched these songs with your magic!
