-1 * x on the number line shows rotating 180° while 1 * x gives 0° and they do that consistently so imaginary numbers should be in the middle y axis, giving 90° rotations. So that's another way to visualize it.

You find how many 5's are in 268 which is 53,so then 53x5 and you subtract that from 268 which equals to 3, 53 is an odd number so (i) to the power of 53 is i to the power of 1, you add 3 to 1 and the exponent is 4 and i to the power of four is 1. 1 is the answer.

Imaginary numbers are simoly a subset of a complex numbers! Meaning imaginary nos are only part of complex numbers. For imaginary, it’s an i symbol while complex is a+bi form where a and b are real numbers while i is an imaginary! Complex numbers composed of a real numbers and an imaginary one!

i^6= (i^3)(i^3)= (-i)(-i)=? is this a correct way of solving i to the 6th power? negative i times negative i
@olidi19
@olidi19 5 жыл бұрын
I still don't get why i squared is negative 1. Why doesn't i squared equal 1? When you square anything, you're basically multiplying that number (we'll call x) by x. i squared would the square root of -1 times the square root of -1 right? If that's right, all you have to do is is multiply -1 and -1 which equals 1, then take the square root of it.

square root of -1 squared equals negative one, because they cancel each other. But if u put it this way : square root of -1 times the square root of -1, multiply the number inside the roots so -1 time -1 equals 1 so square of 1, so i exponent 2 equals -1 and the square of 1 ? Im confused

So the "anti-area" of an "anti-square" of "anti-length" 4i by 4i is - 16 . And the anti-volume .of an "anti-cube, 4i x 4i x 4i is - 64 I . ( - 16 x 4 I ) And the anti-hyper-volume .of an "anti-hypercube, 4i x 4i x 4i x 4i is 256 . ( - 16 x - 16 = 256 , or - 64 I x 4 I ). Got it.

I have a question. If you take i^2 and i^6. These are both equivelent. They both are equal to -1. Now what I take the root of both sides. Then you get i = i^3. But that means that -1 = -i which means that -1 = 1... Could you tell me where this proof went wrong?

internet learning is FAR superior to the fallacy of scholastic pedagogy and the distracting and often disastrous competition among peers...nevermind the abhorrent culture shocking effects a young mind endures while being lambasted by further extraneous secondary contrarians that often take center stage such as bullying, sex, drugs, dumb asswipes and the like. All this noise is deafening so no wonder we end up with a society where no one stops for a person calling out for help...furthermore, a society that predates itself with a kill or be killed rational towards themselves and the planet. All stemming inherently from our youth in school chasing some inane desire to justify our pride when we outwit our fellow classmates by raising our hand first and fastest to answer questions before anyone else. The monumental and primary failure of scholastic structure lies here; while those students who don't know the answer or how to derive the question's contents are not only still left unlearned, they are furthermore humiliated and left wanting. This is the primary contrary effect to the nature of learning inherent in the overarching fallacy of the illusion of successful education that plagues public scholastic systems.

i is a special number. It can be observed in real life, however if we import it off into a number line, the positive sequence of i starts at 0 and goes up, the negative sequence of i goes downard. and because it strands off of 0, it is neither negative nor is it positive; Just like 0.

Say No to sqrts of negative numbers! Sqrt function does not extend into negative numbers. Just leave it as i squared .. never decompose it further (it doesn't help). Just Say No! to square roots of negative numbers! Bad math! = (

+chinacane -4 and 4 are different numbers. thats not how square roots work. also, ±4 means -4 OR 4 so the square could be either 4 x 4 OR -4 x -4, not -4 x 4
