So true and to be honest I don't get the FOMO since having the 65 C9 at launch. LG did a great job keeping this Tv updated and getting HDMI 2.1 fully working when other company's didn't even have the feature back then. It has to be the most future proof Tv I have ever bought. On a side-note I think it's ridiculous that Sony hasn't got VRR enabled at launch, they screwed over the 900h owners and are doing the same promise again. In 2021 it's shameful IMHO

Image processing is really something Sony has perfected. My grandma used to have a really old 42'' TV, one of the first premium flatscreen TVs of this size and she watched over an analog source (the TV signal was digital of course but the TV was connected over SCART to the TV). And even tho it was clearly an SD picture, you would have never guessed the analog way it entered the TV because Sony did such a great job processing that analog signal. Same with newer models, my mom has her second Sony TV now and I always get a little jealous of the picture quality compared to my LG TV (both not OLED). It's really something LG has a history with. Building best in class hardware, but then let the intern write the software.

The 65” C1 is now $1700 but the 65” A90J is still $3799 I’m sure the picture is a little nicer due to it being a brighter OLED but to me that A90J is not worth $2000 more and the C1 is amazing and the motion is pretty darn good

I agree C1 is great. But Sony TVs been better than LG when it comes to real life colour matching. But not 2000 more. $1000 but Sony charge 1000 for the name sake. It's annoying because LG TVs are 10% behind at best. ... When you buy the Sony you can say I have the best of the best A90j 2021 and you are paying for that. Like iPhones they charge so much for them. Compared to android phones. Because of the name

I personally got a LG C1. The Evo panel used in the G1 is actually being used in the C1 but the C1 out of box calibration makes the G1 look way better. Thank god for RTings because you make a few settings and boom you got a much cheaper tv that goes toe to toe with the Sony and G1

The inputs are not an issue. Nearly every time I upgrade my Sony Bravia, I upgrade the AV unit too. They have all the inputs and outputs you could ever need. The KDL2000X I bought when the PS3 launched was over £5000. That crisp 1080 on a hybrid IPS 47" screen, with Dolby pro and the EX Engine, was wicked at the time. I find the top Bravia's to be a tad above the tech at time of launch so I'll stick with them........unlike the Playstation now.

I bought the 65 inch A90J, and have no regrets, brilliant picture and sound to match. I'm not into gaming at all, so gaming features have no interest to me. I did buy a Samsung Q95t, but wasn't happy with the build quality, the front came loose from the back within a day, and sd content didn't look great, so I sent it back.
@PaulPeavler3 жыл бұрын
Feels like you guys missed a few other points about the chipset holding back the Sony. One issue is that you can’t do 4K120 and Dolby Vision at all. Not a huge deal, but now that MS has enabled Dolby Vision gaming on the Xbox Series X you just can’t use it unless you drop down to 1440p120 or 4K60 manually. Also, the chipset has bandwidth issues so if you try to use 4K120 HDR you get processing issues. On last year’s TV they would just internally render at 1080p without telling you. On the A90J they seem to do some kind of interlacing that causes some artifacts and the gradation processing gets messed up. That’s something that can’t be fixed via an update, so if you do a lot of gaming, it’s probably just best to avoid the Sony altogether. If you don’t care about gaming, though, it’s hard to beat.

Whoever says that the c9 or even the cx is not bright enough is watching tv in a bright living room. The oled tv is expensive and made for enthousiast who use it as intended in a (pitch) dark room and those people never complain... it’s the people who use their tv in a living room with all of the lights on that complain it’s not bright enough 😉
