I used to bake a cake on John's birthday every year when my kids were little, and we exchanged "Happy John Lennon Day" greetings today because they still celebrate it with me from a distance. I was an adopted kid so I've had to cobble my own family together and John felt like 'my people,' if there could be such a thing. Music is the eternal language through which we pass on the most important elements of life to our children, friends, and loves. My heroes are my family.

Each year on John Ono Lennon's birthday (October 9th) The Imagine Peace Tower in Iceland is "Lit". Due to inclement weather conditions this year, the ferry boat didn't take people to the Videy island where the monument is located. The Tower was lit anyway and will stay lit until December 8th (the date of John's passing).
