The format's good Timmy. Background music is a little too loud, and pictures of the most prominent notes could be helpful, but other than that, you nailed it. Really appreciate the comparison to other frags. Cheers.

SOTD!! I LOVE this scent! Maybe the best citrus designer ever. It’s so different instead of that aquatic citrus shower gel type.. It might even go on par with my favorite designer edition Blanche. purchased it the same night you made me try that sample remember. It’s on that level for me.

It’s a truly great summer scent. As he says, smooth citrus, doesn’t bite like some. The dry down is pleasant, but unremarkable and fairly linear. That’s the “lack of character” part he describes. “Jimmy Choo Man Ice” is an example of a light, fresh summer citrus with character at the dry down. As far as value goes, Artisan Pure is hard to find on the internet discount sites. I found it and got it just under $40. If you can get it for that, buy it.

The performance is crazy on my skin. I applied four sprays to work and people did recognize the scent from 3 meters away. I also got 11-12 hours longevity :O

Is it sweet like clementine or is it more like piercing citrus? Veeeery strange mix of notes to be honest. As I can't sample them, I will have to buy the whole line, as they are cheap and people always have positive things to say... minus the performance of course. But if I can get 3 bottles of Burberry London and totally forgive it's lack in strength and get it only because the smell is gorgeous... I would probably love this one too.

You should try Phlur Olmsted & Vaux. It’s become my favorite all time citrus fragrance. I like it even more than Xerjoff Renaissance.

Great review man! This was a buy at first smell for me, but then again I'm a huge fan of JV and have the whole line so far lol! This one will be my daily driver for my trip to Hawaii next year. I agree with performance issues for the JV line which is why I usually carry travel atomizers to refresh when I'm wearing a JV scent.

Anybody know why Pure is so much more expensive that other flankers in the JV line? It's like anywhere from $89 to $150. Whereas Vintage, Artisian and JV Original is about $40

IS--just picked this up at your recommendation and love the first 30 minutes of this frag and then it pretty much vanishes. I usually don't have this issue w/ others, but I am really disappointed in the performance of Pure.....complete nonsense on my skin. Great scent only if it lasted. This one smells nice...but to be honest it has the same terrible performance as all JV fragrances. If you want a longer lasting one that smells a lot like this, go to Ross and pickup a bottle of Ferrari Light Essence Acqua...its 15-20 bucks and it lasts longer and smell as good or better. It blows my mind that Ferrari is able to make higher quality fragrances than John Varvatos.

Love JV....with that said, just picked up a bottle of Pure at Macy's and I seriously can't smell 30-60 minutes after is sprayed it. Love the 10 minute opening and then the shiz vanishes.....BS....and so damn disappointing.
