Dear Dr. Bealieu, May I run three very small anonymous images by you? I just need to know what they are. My doctors do not know. I am in quite a bit of pain and I am very poor, I have no other doctors available to me.

What if the tibiofibular space is 1 mm or less after an ankle fracture? Damage to syndemosis?
@PavelChmelar6 жыл бұрын
thank you, Chris, that's very informative. I suffer this kind of injury from breakdance move (doing a rotation on fixed foot with all body weight going opposite direction with extra movement force). It happened last night, diagnosed today and I am scheduled for a check at fracture clinic next week. In meantime, I have moon boot and look for an opportunity in natural remedy and strengthening ligaments for future. Would you have any suggestions or links to point me at? I would really appreciate your time. Thank you

i had a similar case 3 days ago riding my notorbike, ankle rotated outwards and I felt a "pop". Did you heard something similar ? how it went out your case?
@PavelChmelar9 ай бұрын
@@pacomonjeI am sorry to hear that. Yes, I heard the “pop” and since then had another ankle injury on the other foot from soccer. Similar thing however I don’t believe the “pop” is actually related to the injury but rather a movement of the ankle itself (just my opinion). In both cases no bones were actually fractured, though ligaments got strained / damaged a bit. I recovered from both well, however I must emphasise the importance of stretching and strengthening the impacted area gradually to avoid limited movement and then affecting body posture /walking etc. Cold therapy (win hof) worked well for me and made the recovery quicker. Wish you all the best with your recovery.

@@PavelChmelar Wow tank you so much for the reference. I got an x Ray and sowed no fractures and no severe separation of the fibula-tibia nevertheless an obscured area appears on the joint. Doctor said it is the spilled liquid from the articulation. Tank you so much, is very good to hear you recovered well. I am still a bit scared because the ankle suffered all the 250+ Kg of motorbike over it, turning it outwards.... Thanks again!

I just had this surgery for repairs last week. The doc told me 4-6 non-weight bearing & then 4-6 weeks in post-op boot.

This was helpful! Thank you! I have a high ankle sprain from a motorcycle wreck last March and even though it's been almost 9 months, I still feel pain and stiffness and a sort of "catching" on the posterior/lateral side (kinda like my calcaneofibular lig or something) if I try to go up and down stairs or w/ plantar flexion so I am about to have an MRI to see what's going on.

Could a high ankle sprain cause a feeling of instability in the knee? Or is this a different issue.

At least here in my country a Radiologist can not do that...the law say that any musculoskeletal trauma needs to be seen by an Ortho surgeon...
