MUCH OF THE LOOK and feel of the Stargate universe came from the imagination of its art department. For the seventh season finale of STARGATE SG-1, titled "Lost City," artist and series art director James C.D. Robbins was tasked with creating the signature look of the Ancients - not only for this pivotal two-parter but for the spin-off series that would follow it.
In this conversation with "Dial the Gate" Robbins examines his original concept art from "Lost City." Of course the aesthetic of the Antarctic outpost would be reflected in the city of Atlantis itself. And specific props like the control chair, the drone weapon, and the Z.P.M. would, of course, make their way over to STARGATE ATLANTIS as well.
