And there was a German band "As It Rains" and their singer "Ashanti" is definitely an indescribably attractive and cool woman! Simone definitely has the aesthetic of a metal princess. For me, she is the most beautiful woman on the heavy stage. Alissa is definitely in second place in terms of aesthetics, but she did not immediately become a beauty, she had to work a lot on her appearance, unlike Simone, in which everything is laid down by nature. I also really like Elyz , but sometimes she looks like a 50-year-old aunt 😆 I love Floor for her talent, but I don’t consider her a beautiful and hot woman, yet she is too big and masculine. Sharon is a cutie, and not only outwardly, this is such a character 😁 Christine is a very charismatic woman, that says it all. And Charlotte Wessels definitely had to be added to the list. But it is little known that the extreme, hellish pioneers, Morbid Angel, had a female vocalist in 1984, Terri Samuels. Granted, Jo continued with Bolt Thrower and so, she's widely known. But there are such revelations :) 11:16 Yes, Sharon den Adel is truly a very sweet and soft spoken person. 19:15 same goes to Tarja, she is very very sweet and kind. But yes, I think that nowadays Tarja has a lot more confidence and she will not let anyone bully her. Some of my additions I might not write, since these are smaller bands. And I don't think they'll appreciate a ranking either. Anneke van Giersbergen incoming, for sure. Younger her, wifey. Current day, wife+cougar. But I'll add Elina Siirala from Leave's Eyes (joined past the family drama in the band). She might be Dommy Mommy+Cougar+wife material. She is *insanely* gorgeous. And Obscura and Henriette Bordvik from Asagraum. Corpse painted too, of course! Might answer all the epic rankings :) 14:28 if we're going for the heavy metal female icons from the early 80's, one could add two lesser known ladies: Betsy Weiss, from Bitch. And to be honest, she looks incredible for her age nowadays! Bitch's themes are the good old, a "bit" cliche, 80's femdom. But the band enjoys a very wholesome community! And Katherine Thomas, aka Kat, from The Great Kat. Super talented, although the music might be very meme like, intentionally. But yeah, the Dommy Mommy/"Shred Goddess Kat!"/"Worship Kat!"/"Kat rules!"/"Shred Dominatrix Kat" (or something like that)/"Shredhoven" (her terminology...) rank for her goes without saying :) "KAT possessed every Boy and girl That means YOU! My little slave Get ready for TORTURE!" *Ahem!* That's the GREATNESS at hand. If Bitch's lyrics are the wikipedia abstract, Kat's lyrics are the result of an in depth reading while on acid. She looks incredible nowadays. Sure, all of her photos/vids are in an exaggerated pose, with the "stage appearance" and all. But there is no denying that she's smoking hot. And behind the image of The Great Kat, I suspect that she's a really cool person. (P.S. her debut from 87, "worship me or die!", is actually super impressive. Riff/shredding craziness, and she sounds pretty mean. I really did like it).

What you said about Chelsea Wolfe was spot on, she isn't necessarily very attractive as she wears a LOT of makeup but she has this sexy Lana Del Rey kinda vibe, and you'll tell her upfront while drinking to get it on and she'll be like "only if you can handle me" lol. But for me Simone Simons and Myrkur (wasn't on the list?) are absolute metal wifey queens.

I'm tempted to say the omission of Midori (one of the two guitar-players of Lovebites) is a criminal offense! ;) I would also have included former Midnattsol-bassist Birgit Öllbrunner, guitarist Michelle Meldrum-Norum (RIP; she was one the two guitarists of the all-female band Phantom Blue and later on founded the band Meldrum) and (based on older pics) about any member of Meanstreak (together with Ice Age from Sweden, one of the first all-female Thrash Metal bands in the eighties) and Dawn Crosby (RIP), one of the first female Thrash Metal vocalists in the eighties and also one of my overall favourite Metal vocalists (because of her vocals on Détente's "Recognize No Authority" and Fear of God's "Within the Veil").

Proof that you’ve got to be attractive to make it as a female musician. It clearly don’t matter nearly as much for the men. The reason is that there’s mostly straight guys who are part this music scene, let alone who are the fans, so they need to be impressed by our looks too. I’m asexual (not attracted to men or women), non-binary (not fully identifying as a woman), and fatter (much less refined than all of them), so that’s a shame. I’m glad you made this video for me to see. Though I don’t fit the “metal chick mold” almost at all, I still wouldn’t trade myself to be one of them, as there is my own unique beauty no one else can have.
