I own one of these. I purchased it one Sunday evening when I was pissed as a poet on payday. totally impracticle for EDC. Hardly ever use it. Jaw droppingly bright. I sometimes illuminate the street in the early hours of the morning for about 5 seconds and then watch my neighbours turn on their bedroom lights, open their windows, then look to the sky.

Love to hear about how long the warranty is and how well they respond to a consumer complaint. Hate to have a broken $600 flashlight that I can't get repaired. That side of the business is just as important as the quality itself. These companies should understand that a happy customer translates to a positive review and consumer confidence becomes increased sales.

GUYS RECOMMENDATION - to extend the longevity of the flash life and its battery never use the max setting. The 2nd most powerful is more more more than enough to incapacitate a person for self defense. I repeat it is more than your will ever need and keep the health of flash light in good health. Using max setting constantly drains its life

Though I can’t account for its truthfulness, a reviewer on Amazon set a newspaper on fire in about six seconds. I am suspicious because the edge of the newspaper was out of frame, but I could also see how the focus of the light beam this bright could ignite the edge of paper. Another reviewer stated that he could not touch the front half of the light without leather gloves after a couple minutes of it being on its high setting(s). So… those might be a future tests. If true, the hazards of this light go beyond eye damage lol.

Btw..just picked up a Boker Advanced folding dagger…off of EBay..$244 shipped…it doesn’t have the same machining on the handle as the one you reviewed..but it is the same blade and handle silhouette..no Applegate Fairbairns moniker attached to it as well… Over the years I’ve seen, and miser out on some amazing custom folders that used the AF design as inspiration…this is (seems) a little bulky …but I have looked for it from time to time
