Thank for your amazing video ! But at 23:30 should the expresstion be -1/pi * (cos(2pi) - cos(pi(t - 3))) where 3 < t < 5 ?

thanks alot iman. i have a question about 19:54 time. how do you know time shifting is greater than 3 seconds. you shifted all the unit function to the left side of cartesian system but if t be less than 3 it will has another shifting senario
@Kuchdelan
@Kuchdelan 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. It doesn't really matter, I shifted everything to the left side as it visually made a better sense. Try another case and you will end up with the same final answer. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks you very much for the amazing content. I was wondering why do we shift according to t instead of tau? It sounds that, in the integral of the convolution, tau is the offset? Thanks again.

What I don't get is at 6:39 I don't understand why we flip over the y axis. In the previous tutorial we only see that when a negative is in front of the whole function so I don't get what is goin on here. To me it seems that it needs to use be the unit step function shifted to the right. I know that u(t-2) IS just u(t) shifted to the right......so what am I missing? EDIT: So I just realized I was thinking of the x-axis this whole time, but I'm still confused
@Kuchdelan
@Kuchdelan 5 жыл бұрын
Hey. Sorry for the confusion and my late response. Life has been very hectic recently. Have you watched my tutorial on signal transformations? when you multiply "t" by a negative sign, i.e. y = x(t) --> x(-t), as if you are playing the signal from the end to the beginning. So, the whole thing should be flipped around the y axis. Hope this helps.
@rvlli2377
@rvlli2377 5 жыл бұрын
Iman yeah, I had watched it but I didn’t notice that were multiplying by a negative sign here. By the way, does it matter whether you reflect or shift first? My teacher seems to be doing that...

Will you please teach us how to study like this? Our professors are not really good, and I have a problem studying almost all of my courses (in electrical engineering), and I'm going to start hate studying. I want to learn fishing, not the fish ;)

For your example with (e^-t)u(t) why is it that when you write the integrals the u(t) disappears? Why don't you write u(t) as u(t - tao) as well?
@Kuchdelan
@Kuchdelan 8 жыл бұрын
Please note that the plot is the product of (e^-t) and u(t). That's why the negative part is zero. You can include u(t-tau) in the integral but this function is always one for tau less than t. So, basically there is no point to write it. Does it make sense?

Thank your for your feedback. I will include these topics on my list. First, I need to finish signal processing 101. Then, based on the suggestions that I've received, I decide a direction to continue this channel. Thanks again for your interest in my videos. You are awesome!

Hey, Iman I’m having a problem solving this question. This was asked in my exam. Can you please me to figure out? Q. Find the result of convolution x(-t)*δ(-t-t∘) A. x(-t+t∘) B. x(t-t∘) C. x(t+t∘) D. x(-t-t∘) From my understanding it should be D but I’m not 100% sure.

HI Iman,my question is what almost every student have in convolution.otherwise it would be no more difficult.i try my best to explain it. the formula of DT convolution is y[n]=∑x[k]h[n−k] ,where k goes to -∞ to +∞. now problem is about this 'K'. from the formula it seems that when we flip the K to -K then +n means it should shift to the right and -n means to the left.but why its opposite. please make a video or detail answer i am really having headache about this and wasting my time to see alot of videos. the above case is when X(k) and h(k) or given. sometimes x(n) and h(n) given. then again the if we see the formula of convolution it says that y[n]=∑x[k]h[n−k] .here we take for example y[0]=∑x[0]h[n−0] and keep adding K values to get one value of y[0]. i am really confused that k is suppose to shift in one part of formula and in other part its taking values from X[n] which is same is x[k]...means all this really confusing..i fully understand how to compute convolution but problem is with mathematical notation ...i know i could not explain it well. so please try to explain as much you understood me or we can have a chat for a while on gmail engr.awaisumar@gmail.com
