Here's my story. Don't job hop like I've done. Sorry for the long post. I have Tank, Hazmat, and D/T endorsements. TWIC too. Crystal clear MVR/PSP/Clearinghouse/Criminal. No auto-restriction. 2-branch (Army/AF) military veteran w/honorable discharges. I have a few months experience hauling diesel in the oil fields. I have 1 year of straight bore tanker (some hazmat loads, some not). I have 1 year of pneumatic and end dump experience. With that gig, I would switch between the end dump and pneumatic trailers daily, sometimes multiple times per day. I've had a year of dry van/reefer with Fedex Custom Critical as well. And a few other jobs that lasted a few months here, a few months there. So I've had like 7 or 8 jobs totaling 5 years of experience. I'm a good driver and pick things up quickly. But I'm at the point now where my job hopping has caught up with me in a down market where companies can be super selective in who they hire. I've been unemployed now for a couple months dealing with personal things at the house. But now I can get back to work. I'm having a hard time finding a good gig, and I believe that my job hopping has canceled out all my experience and qualifications/endorsements. I'm sure some Mega carriers would bring me on board, but freight is down as we know, and I hear too much about drivers lacking for miles. So I'd prefer to stay with a specialized gig like tank hauling or similar. My point is, I've seemed to back myself in a corner. We shall see if I can get out of it. I can't do food service as I have shoulder issues that wouldn't take long to flare up with the physical work load that it requires. Pulling hoses a couple times per day isn't too physical for the shoulders... Im not proud of the job hopping, but not hiding from it either. I pray a long-term position is on the horizon God bless Scott Dallas, TX area

I start next week at GFS chain delivery. I worked food service local for a year, at a different company. I Have 4 years experience trucking. I think the biggest thing holding me back from getting good paying jobs was my lack of experience and my age. I just turned 25, most companies in the fuel/tanker industry want 25 or older mostly for insurance purposes and experience levels. Had my CDL since I was 21 and job hopped a little. It’s definitely about who you know and your experience level. My two cents is get experience and get endorsements, and keep applying even after you weren’t selected, took me 3 applications and 2 interviews later to get in with Gordon. Now I’m hired and start next week. Stay the course and trucking can benefit you. Also I like the touch freight so you can stay in shape 💪.

Started getting into your channel and I have been binched watching your videos, and this video right here is what I needed to hear because I am currently unemployed, it's been almost 4 months now. I've applied at Gordon Foods last month of May, got the interview but never heard from them again, I've applied to other trucking companies and the positions I'm looking for is either filled or they got better candidates so honestly it's been discouraging, never been unemployed before, this advice that you given to everyone is very helpful and it put a smile on my face, so please continue with the content and I just want to say thank you, I'm a new truck driver and just want to advance my skills into something better.

@@imanthonytv I appreciate you sharing your experience and knowledge in the trucking industry! I’ve been in the game now for 19yrs and there are a lot of misconceptions about the industry and you always keep it 💯! I am with Frito Lay now and I see a lot of drivers in the comments saying you have to drive OTR before you can get a good local job and as you stated that’s simply not true, I’ve only done local in the food service industry and FedEx ground, and tankers. I have been extremely blessed to make well north of six figures and never drove long haul at any time in my career!! Keep pushing positivity and helping these young drivers find their footing!! Salute my guy!!

I worked for Holland for 26 years fully endorsed no tickets no accidents when I lost my job Dayton freight interviewed me but rejected me a week later I applied for 6 other LTL companies and heard nothing. I moved on to a state job more $$ a pension great benefits I look at it as they lost a good candidate who doesn't call in sick and has a good work ethic their loss I'm done with trucking 8 years until I retire

I’m on the other end of the spectrum, 30 years of driving experience, clean driving record,so after 55 years old they aren’t really going to give you a chance, because they’re likely looking for young drivers to get the most mileage out of them.

Even while you guys are in truck school, try setting yourself up making connections on where you could be hired because getting that headstart is key. I searched for a class A job for almost a year & couldnt find anything since i have no experience with all endorsements. Now im in public transportation, class b 😔 oh well lmao

Great Advice! Just graduated from TDI in Sanford April. Been applying to OTR companies but my address is in Fort Lauderdale, FL; was denined automatically because of the southern location. Looking to change my address somewhere near Jacksonville.

Yoo Anthony, quick question, I recently got a ticket for making a right on red at an intersection that says no right on red. This was a camera light ticket. In New York State I don’t get points for this however should I just get a lawyer to toss it or should I just pay the 150?
@kelechinwadigo3260

I don’t even think this goes on my record, but I wanna play it safe. I don’t want companies to see that.
@imanthonytv
@imanthonytv 4 ай бұрын
I’m not sure what the traffic laws are in NY regarding camera light tickets but in FL as long as the ticket is paid within the notice period (typically 60-90 days) it’s not reported to law enforcement, DMV, clerk, nor insurance company. It doesn’t affect the driver at all. However, If the ticket is not paid within the notice period, then the camera company will report the violation to local law enforcement who will then issue a uniform traffic citation. The fine goes up at that point and the Clerk is made aware of the ticket. If the ticket is paid at that stage then the driver is admitting guilt, therefore the driver will then be convicted, and the ticket will go on their DL record.

In my experience having propane hauling experience is a positive on your resume even as B class solely because it shows you understand the risks involved. I have been called before just because I have 5 years propane experience.

No. I’m a regional driver. I layover 2 nights a week. So basically I’m home 5 days out of the week. Off weekends. Gordon Food Service, Performance Food Group, Sysco, Sygma, & McLane will hire driver’s with 0 experience. These are just some off the top of my head. Good luck
