@vegpuppy2554 жыл бұрын
Pastor Julie Armbrister exactly! So many people in these comments have opinions about what Lester “should” or “needs to” do. Why don’t we just trust that Lester knows what he’s doing and leave the choices up to him. I’m sure he has good reasons as to why he hasn’t done what other people are suggesting.

I think they were disappointed that Santiana didnt have a calf by Tex. It was Billy who bred with her. So I can totally see them wanting to try again with Tex & Santiana. A Long Horn calf would be adorable. They just have to build a sturdier fence. I know they can do that. Their really talented.
@karenhayek89014 жыл бұрын
Lester has said they want to build a long horn herd. Tex is a prime bull to help build that. I would assume that's why. But I agree with responses, that Lester & Janie know what they're doing. I am curious as to how many of you are farmers/ranchers? If you've never lived this life, it's pretty difficult to understand a lot of there reasoning. The have a wonderful place and it's a full time commitment. Yes, Juls Armbrister, they deserve kudos for what they are doing 💕

He was trying and he's so patient while Jami is learning about farm life. Jami, Lester, keep being who you are and I know you're trying to be professional and all for the young ones, I get it, but you're human and this was a very stressful situation and you're doing your absolute best. I've never lived on a farm, i love animals, and enjoy Lester, Jaime and LE's family/sanctuary/flip flop farmer videos. I have no doubt that they are doing what's best for all of the animals. I'm pretty sure you can't raise/tend to cows the way you deal with cats for example. What we might think is harsh is probably necessary in certain cases. I don't think this family would ever do anything to harm their animals. I actually learned a lot from this video and even though Lester and Jaime had a time dealing with Tex, i did enjoy this. I hope you figure something out, spending your time off chasing Tex daily is going to get old fast. I was raised on a farm with Charolais and Black Angus cattle. Bulls are nothing to mess with when females are in estrus and no matter how gentle any other time, they can and they will turn on you in a flat minute if you get between them and the female. I don't think any of your fences are going to hold Tex when he wants to leave, not sure electric fencing would even work, unless it's set pretty high. I see people advocating to add electric fencing as a possible deterrent. I grew up on a farm with cattle, and we always had electric fencing. It is not cruel. The cattle respect it and usually stay away from it. I don't believe, however, that it is the complete fix for this very dangerous situation. Even more containment strategies need to be used or Tex needs to be physically relocated for the duration of breeding season. I am extremely fearful for Billy because Tex will gore him if this continues. I totally get why Lester's dad is riled. Billy is an expensive animal. Good luck on a workable containment system or finding an alternative hangout for Tex for a short while.

I agree electric fence will help alot we have 600--2500 lbs bulls 4-10 at a time we have good fencing looks as new as first day it was put up cause electric fence is on insulators bout 15 inches in front of it ...across field is the big bull with 40-50 cows young bull will blow and stomp there feet but they dont touch that fence after first time ...we use one strong box for everything 30 acres With breakers for killing certain parts without killing whole fence and we/they rent 20 acres behind farm with planted oats with one single strand all the way around it beside roadway with no problems......knock on wood...

I think Lester used to work as a high school teacher and he and Jamie relatively new to this sanctuary business. And it looks like they are getting a lot of good advice from experienced ranchers, which I hope they'll heed. Tex is only going to get more dangerous during breeding season. Not all fun and games when someone gets trampled by a bull, or other animals get gored. With those horns, Tex could easily disembowel Billy or the "biggies". How would you like to see that video? Male cattle have two choices. Breed or death. That’s why my bottle bull is gonna keep his balls. Cows aren’t pets. You need electric fence, that barbed wire fence is just going to cause injuries as he tears through it. He has already proven he doesn’t respect a fence. He needs a few good zaps! ⚡️

I love your rant Jami-raging bulls are dangerous and can be alot of work.My family homesteaded a farm in Missouri from back at turn of 20th century and I was lucky enough to experience farm life with an outhouse,wood burning stove for heat and cooking and hand pump well water.Could go out and find Indian arrow heads and help with harvesting crops Very fond memories.

I'm with Jaime..he is dangerous.. When it comes to the ladies, you can't hold Tex.. Tex is a sweetheart until women are involved..be very careful..

On my farm, when a bull gets like that, its time for a ring chain in his nose!! It would also help billy out if you clipped the tips of Tex's horns!! No fence you build will keep a bull in his prime in or out of another pasture!!

Tex is gonna have to go or get snipped. He’s gonna gore Billy if something isn’t done. That is scary.

Tex is a Bad Ass Bull. I can't believe how he had Billy off his feet. Please get that Bull Casterated. ASAP. Bulls are meant to kept separate from the Hurd, they are only with the heifers at breaking time. I'm from North Dakota. Big Cattle country. Please do the right thing for safety.

Okay, I’m saying this for the people telling them what they “NEED” to do. Tex isn’t your bull he is theirs. They know what they should/shouldn’t and need to do. This is their lives, and Tex is their bull. Thank y’all.

Strongly recommend bull electric fences. Some might not like it, but as an owner of bulls, it’s needed

Tex can plow and push Billy all over the place at 10 miles per hour and do it for a long distance - he is powerful! Never, never, underestimate Tex's ability - he is a powerhouse!
