​@@cinnamonsvintagecellar9543 right now it is a good thing he will do that. It is going to take time for Roman to get past his PTSD of men with lead ropes and halters. He has no problems with women with lead ropes and halters. It is like Donkey Dan and shelters. It took Donkey Dan from 2017 to 2022 to be able to go in a shelter of any kind after Hurricane Harvey. Donkey Dan has PTSD from being locked in a barn with another donkey who didn't survive the flooding of Hurricane Harvey. Donkey Dan still gets nervous in big storms but will now at least go into the barn as long as he has a way to get out if he needs to. When they brought Donkey Dan from Plum Grove to JL south back in April of last year when Marrow Hill flooded Donkey Dan was shaking because he was so nervous and his PTSD was starting to mess with his head. The only thing that kept him from hurting himself was that Ima Jean was in the horse trailer with him. Ima Jean is his best friend and life partner. It is going to take a while for Roman to let Lester put a rope halter on him. He has to realize that men with lead ropes and halters don't mean that he is going to do work like pulling a buggy or pulling a plow. He has to realize that it means something good/fun is going to happen but that is not going to happen quickly.

@@cinnamonsvintagecellar9543 I Agree but IMO because of Roman's past, he may never learn to trust anyone with a rope of any kind or a saddle because these items are a reminder of his past life as a working draft horse who would have to work to earn his keep or else he would be punished, and sometimes very stern punishments could have used. The Amish people do not spend their hard-earned money on any kind of animals to become their pets but for the sole purpose of provided them with specific needs and in Roman case he was used to plow the fields for their crops and when he would not meet their full standards of work, he would been punished and I am certain that the only reason that he is with Lester now is because he had gotten too old to keep up with the hard work any longer.

Little tip Lester. Get Roman used to you standing next to his left shoulder facing the same way as him. Once he’s used to you doing that, then get him used to you ‘hugging’ his nose with your right arm. Once he’ll be used to that, you’ll be able to halter him easily. But it’ll take patience and time. But do it daily. ❤

Hello there Lester, I certainly am grateful that Chucky has new “digs”, if other bulls knew how life could be, would they feel shorted…..I bet that they would? My family had a huge ranch up in the Napa Valley and I would stay up there in summer as I was raised fairly close by; there was a huge bull on the ranch that terrified me and the only time that I felt safe, was on my very protective horse named Thunder! As for the rest of the herd, they were as sweet as a herd of cows could be! I was living the dream back in those days and another kind of dream now‼️👍⬅️👀
