I have the remnants of our snowfall from last week here in South Carolina (US) as well. We got 8 inches, which I believe is about 20 cm. Not as much as you all, but as we are not accustomed to snow in my part of the world, it was a big deal to us.

Yours is one of my absolute favourite channels on KZbin. I always get a rush of excitement when I see you have posted. The calming music and down to earth presentation of culture and knowledge in the lovely setting of your home and garden is magical. I'm sorry to hear you were ill in December but glad it gave you a chance to dream about the garden and rest. I never answered your question on your visiting the graves episode when you asked whether there are traditions here in Wales that are similar. Not that I am aware of, sadly. Pembrokeshire was very much taken over by Methodism a long time ago and I assume many traditions were lost.

Aww, this is cute 😀. Reminds me of the corn husk dolls the early Hoosiers of Indiana used to make after the corn harvest. I think a there are a few of the remaining farming communities that still hold festivals still make them. We're not as much of an agricultural state as we used to be, but there's still some family farms.

Cornhusk dolls I still make and take to our local markets to sell. Of course I've adapted them to an herbal theme with bundles of lavender, sage, & mugwort.

Delightul weather and you are looking so well. The burning of the figure at the end of a year is also practiced in Japan at New Year. We take our arrow or other objects purchased the year before for good luck or health and return to the temple and all are burned. We buy another. Gives the shinto shrine a bit of money. Paper garlands are wrapped around special trees too.

Very nice. Reminds me of the Yule Goat tradition in some ways. It will be 53F (12C) and sunny here tomorrow (Sunday) and the first two of my planned six new herb beds arrive. Hola! I was so inspired by this teaching that I have decided to make crafting a Brideog part of my Group's Imboloc ritual this year. I made one up ahead of time using plants from my land here in southwest Texas. We have totally different climate and terrain here from Ireland. So, I used Texas purple sage for her head(very protective) native red yucca for her arms(good for time travel) and cedar greens for her skirt(super protective and healing) I have plenty of oak leaves for her volumptuous girdle! She came out so gorgeous. I can't wait for all my friends to make their own. Thanks for such inspiration! Namaste

Hello beautiful ❤️ I love the shawl you are wearing .. it’s so pretty & looks warm . We are still in the middle of winter here , we got 10 inches this past week & it’s still hanging on the ground with ice too . So cold .. I have been doing cleaning out & decluttering my home for the past 2 weeks .. Watching your videos is such a lovely way to start my day! Calming music, lovely photography of your home and the dogs (especially the dogs!) It sets a mood that carries me through my days. I have been in love with herbal medicine since I was a young woman, I'm almost 70 now. And I do believe herbs have carried me when I was sick or in mourning, after childbirth and loss of friends and family members. But herbal knowledge is something I have found to be the one steady true route to take during deeply trying times. (Such as now)! I would love to do your herb course but am in the middle of two other courses at the moment and I wouldn't have the time. Will you be repeating the foundation course in the future? I do hope so x x
