Meanwhile if you took that proportion and hypothetically applied those abilities to a human, you’d get literal superheroes. And if they were mammal scale, they’d take over the planet easily. As for why they never really get big, it’s cause all bugs have one huge nerf tier zoo didn’t mention. They don’t take in and circulate oxygen efficiently. They get as big as they can, any bigger and they can’t get enough oxygen to sustain it.

1). No, spiders are not insects, they are arachnids alongside scorpions and ticks 2). Insects are basically heavily modified crustaceans, just like how birds are heavily modified dinosaurs 3). Butterflies are not the only insects that metamorphosize 4). Most insects with the word "fly" in their name are not real flies, (dragonflies, butterflies, damselfies...) with the real flies being the common flies, mosquitoes, robber flies and some bee imitators 5). Baby dragonflies, or dragonfly nymphs, are aquatic predators able to eat minnows, tadpoles and other small aquatic creatures 6). Termites are basically cockroach variants 7). Spiders are not even that creepy :(
