dang, I’m really grateful for you making this video, as a 33 year old dude, I never thought I would be into lighting this much, but since starting to work from home, you realize how important light is around the house (I do night shifts) and is just really important for mood and productivity. Thank you for this video!

Of all the elements of decor, for me lighting is the most important. The old fashioned way, there’s something very calming about waking around and turning your lamps on and off. Not all need to be on all the time. That gadget of on and off is good for when you are sick or people with motor difficulties.

I didn’t even know they had smart plugs along with smart light bulbs so that was a big plus for me to know. I really love the examples you’ve shown of the different style of lamps and the brands you’ve recommended. Your home is beautifully lit and decorated. ❤😊 Thank you. 🙏🏾

I live in a relatively small space (1040sf) and I enjoy the nightly ritual of walking around my house turning on various lamps and enjoying the glow and highlights these lamps cast on various objects. If I'm going to be away, I always make sure to turn on some lights so my home looks occupied and I'm welcomed by the soft glow of various lamps when I return. Edit: Lighting is addictive. I buy lamps at thrift shops where I get things like a $450 West Elm lamp for $5 or a solid brass lamp that I bought at the dump in Hawaii for $1. I like quirky, so I'm especially drawn to things like small lamps in the shape of an elephant or with a sea urchin shade. I also have a collection of 3'-4' tall candle holders that hold LED candles. The flickering of the "flames" makes me feel like I'm living in another era.

If you want a nice soft WARM glow from your lamps and lighting, my best tip is to buy coloured shades like orange or yellow that light can pass through made of silk, paper or nylon etc. LED strips are great too and can be put anywhere, most will allow you to change colour and even set slow pulsing glow if you want. There's a lot of white light in this, although not bad in certain areas can be sore on the eyes when you look in their direction.

I think you missed out on bulbs with good color rendering index (CRI). Better CRI means better lighting and more natural looking skintone that can greatly affect how your space looks. Some good high CRI bulbs include Philips Ultradefinition and Waveform Lighting
@headerahelix4 ай бұрын
It's a good idea to worry about it in places you're putting on makeup and are checking your outfit looks good, and also when cooking but otherwise most people will never need to ever worry about CRI. It's not a universal measurement across the spectrum of colours bulbs display either, most people aren't going to set their bulbs to the correct colour temperature to get the most accurate CRI to begin with

Sometimes it's downright difficult and I have two of them. Apart from this they're ideal for my needs and have many levels and shades of light along with great flexibility as to height, orientation and angle.

Yes, you may want to compensate depending on your preferences. If you can, an adjustable color temperature source will help. The difference, if I has to guess, 500-750 kelvin.
