Apparently this happens when your phone number is not registered to your apple ID. It happened to me after I switched my sim and since the new number wasn’t on my apple ID, iMessage and FaceTime stopped working. In that case, either add the phone number or just use your e-mail to send/receive iMessages, FaceTimes. While travelling it’s easier to just use the e-mail since the phone number won’t be permanent.

If you guys are having problems here what worked for me: Step 1: Shut off your phone for 30 sec. Step 2: Change the Date and Time to something else then press “set automatically” Step 3: Turn in Imessage After that you should be good
