What to Expect:
Dr. Durie will kick off the webinar with a review of Myeloma 101. He will discuss MGUS, smoldering myeloma, and active myeloma, and address when patients may consider beginning treatment. He will also cover tests for diagnosis and monitoring, as well as how the disease is staged, and more.
Dr. Rajkumar will focus on options for early disease, including autologous stem cell transplant, and a discussion of triplets versus quadruplets.
Beth Faiman, PhD, RN, MSN, APRN-BC, AOCN®, FAAN, will discuss supportive care, including how to manage side effects and complications of the disease and its treatments.
Dr. Garfall will focus on relapse and new immune therapies. He will discuss the recent FDA approval of the first-in-class bispecific T-cell engager Tecvayli™ (teclistamab-cqyv) for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Practical guidance will be provided regarding the many new myeloma treatment options, including the best sequencing of these options and their potential side effects. Of note, the latest treatment options available in clinical trials today will be explored.
