It basically is, every position is 5-star athletes, and I know for a fact some of them shouldn't even be playing high school ball anymore. I love seeing that Mater Dai will not play them again, which means as long as they dont play each other and Mater Dai doesn't lose, IMG will not get anymore National Championships....... I only watched this highlight because I wanted to see what Canadian high school teams look like, other than that,,,give me public schools any day over this private school crap that can't even let kids enjoy a state title for them to celebrate each year

Football is popular in Canada. One of the most popular sports there in all honesty. I played there in my freshman and sophomore years before moving back to the US but I never felt like football was not popular there at all. The problem is that the popularity is only for watching it on TV and the here-and-there trip to a bordering US state to catch an NFL/College game. It doesn't translate to the field. Canada has a bunch of dawgs talent-wise, but they don't play in Canada. Football North is far, far away from Canada's best players. The country's best players almost always end up transferring to boarding schools in the US or go as foreign exchange students. This IMG team actually has several. Competition, exposure, player development, coaching, etc. is frankly a joke in Canada and any players in CA that have any serious intention of playing at the next level and actually developing themselves enough to make an impact right away in college usually have the sense to transfer to schools in the US where they'll get better coaching, facilities, training, competition that they can show off on film, and being able to do things like attend major Power 5 camps in the off-season. If there was a team out there that somehow had all of Canada's best players in one spot and gave them the same coaching and player development that even my public school in the US had(to be fair, we were an in-state powerhouse and won state titles both my years there), I legitimately think they'd be able to give teams like IMG a run for their rmoney. Clarkson(Football North) is a program trying to keep Canada's talent home but I just don't buy it. Just look at the size of those kids alone compared to IMG, it's not even a competition. They don't look squared away in their play, and the chemistry feels clunky. I find it hard to imagine that any school in Canada could match anywhere near the same booster resources alone that even a mid-tier school in the US regularly gets, much less be able to replicate everything else across the board. I fully understand why some of these kids that go across the border to attend camps at like Syracuse or Michigan to see where they're at, that get exposure and told they have potential by the college scouts there, instantly transfer to a US school once they know they have a shot at going D1. Clearwater Academy is a good example; filled with Canadian players, most of them with D1 offers.

They lost every game and he was a sophomore and one of the fringe players on the team. Came back to play regular high school ball in canada and was absolutely dominant. Can’t speak for every league in canada but for the most part football North would crank the Canadian teams.

CIF banned member schools from playing teams that are not part of state athletic organization, so that rules independent schools like IMG out. Why? Because IMG would get instantly disqualified from every conference in the country since they openly recruit players(not even meant to be an insult, IMG quite literally has an official policy of sourcing talent nationally)
