Their recruitment policies are what hold them back . . . or something like that. IMG's non-national teams are (I think) working on being a part of the state programs and might be able to compete for a title, but not the national team. It's a sacrifice IMG's decided to make. It's a sacrifice their national players make knowing they will not have the chance to compete for a state title.

I realize nowadays you gotta do stuff to guarantee your guys scholarships. but back in the 80s when I played if you were up 56-3 with 3 seconds left and you tried to score someone was getting hurt!! That shit didn't play! Someone would get knee capped pile drived or your QB would get WWE slammed and pig piled. That WR would have either ran out of bounds or dropped the ball in my day coz he woulda known whats coming. In a game I played we were up 30 with 3 minutes to play on their 5 yard line, this team called our Moms the C word and called us every name in the book and were dirty as hell (We got em back and then some during play! they stopped that shit quick!!). We took a knee 4 times, because sportsmanship was job #1 on our team. If the other team played clean we played cleaner etc... you dont throw up 56-3 take a FN knee its that simple.

Everybody recruits on this level but what coach does it to the level of IMG and some of the other prep schools.
