the "joke" on Melusine's entrance look is that she is a "biscoteira" (biscoito means "cookie"), which I could freely translate to "cookie addict". In Brazil, the expression "to give a cookie" means "to compliment" someone. So "biscoteira" is kinda like an "attention seeker/attention whore". A "biscoiteira" is someone who is always trying to call attetion and receive compliments, "cookies". It is used to make fun of someone who is constantly showing their body for the likes on social media.

Betina is not holding a picture of the city, it is a canga, equivalent to a sarong/beach towel, that people always bring to the beach so they can lay in the sand. Her canga has a painting by Rafamon, one of the most famous grafitti artist and activists from Rio and mother of a queer child, they spupport many local drag competitions in Rio.

Melusine's lash bit was to represent how hot her city is to the point it melts her makeup. Betina's body suit is shaped like the Pão de Acucar, a famous mountain in Rio. Miranda's look is a tribute to suburbian Rio de Janeiro houses. Her headpiece is a wall with broken glass bottles, a way to avoid people jumping into your home.

Miranda’s looks was an homage to suburban Brazilian houses! Usually as a “defense system” ppl break glass and attach to the top of their house’s external walls with cement, so robbers won’t climb them. The mosaic fabric is inspired by how they decorate the walls with broken pieces of tiles. It was a perfect representation of Brazilian suburban old houses, the judge critiques were nonsense!

the decor of the workroom is very generic. the dolphins, flamingos and palm trees are to alude to the "tropical nature" of brazil. yeah, we have dolphins. but I don't think the country is known for that. we absolutely do not have flamingos here, but fine I guess and palm trees are so widely ubiquotus in the whole globe that I don't believe to be a strong choice to code as a "brazilian feature". but I'm not complaining, everything looks good and everyone is beautiful WE FINALLY got a BR season and that's what matters most.
