Also to touch on the musical theater topic speaking from my own experience, I like some musicals , but for the most part I don’t like them because they are hard to follow. They write the songs with such deep meanings and not everyone interpret songs like that. No one wants to have to stop and decipher the meaning of the song to make it make sense with all that has been happening in the movie. Also it just makes the movie longer, it’s kinda annoying when you just want the answer and right when they ask the question , instead of answering they burst into a song that no one really understands unless you are a musical theater person. Musicals are written for musical lovers, the songs aren’t always catchy, they come at the worst part of the movie when all you want is the answer and the songs always last too long lol. And that’s why musicals don’t work for ME personally. The ones that I like are the ones that have quick catchy little songs that came in for comedic relief and not an actual song where I have to understand how it pertains to the character and their story through the movie. That’s homework at this point. Lol
