Just started this mod. Very early in Tier 2, maybe 3 hours in. It's not the screws. It's the 5 different ores/base materials I need to manage and the fact that processing requires so many steps. As an engineer: The screws are actually very accurate. In the real world there are companies like McMaster-Carr and Fastenal that deal HEAVILY in all of the various kinds of fasteners you need to build literally anything. Look around whatever room you're in right now and count all the screws, nails, bolts, etc, in the furniture, in the building frame, etc. Even your clothes. The seams of your clothes are fastened by thread, plus the usual buttons and zippers. Fastening things is such a big deal that this mod could have easily had 20 different types of fastener to worry about.

Thing is though, that's dealing with _our_ level of technology. The way I envision Satisfactory is that the building gun you have functions literally as shown. You designate an area, and it simply fabricates it from the materials you have stored. The reason you don't need screws for many things are due to how the building gun simply fabricates the machine with components fused together completely. It's fine to fabricate things fully fused, since there's not really a need to un-screw things when you can just push a button and the whole machine is broken into its constituent parts. It's not a perfect explanation but I figure it's at least something.

Honestly, needing screws for everything makes A LOT of sense. In the regular (vanilla) game, I am willing to suspend disbelief regarding the build gun, but it always seemed ridiculous how few resources are needed to construct things. Requiring screws to put everything together seems like an entirely reasonable escalation in complexity. 😊
@xoso5994 ай бұрын
Fun tip, you don't need the smart splitter. The output of leaves and biomass is a perfect deterministic output and splitters also split in a deterministic manner. Just chain two splitters to break off the biomass then merge the leaves back together into one belt. So long as you don't jam your output it works forever.
@Warp9pnt94 ай бұрын
The problem is that if for any reason the fluid conditioner backs up. it tries to empty one buffer before the other, which will block the entire production line. Further, even with a smart splitter, this will most likely also back up the constructors and assemblers making the bio coal (Kibz didn't unlock or look at), which burns much slower in coal burner, yielding much more power from biowater nodes. So you need a proper balancer logistic, possibly even just storage container buffers, to handle the output from fluid conditioner in a robust manner than can't back up. smart splitter becomes vital, essential.
@xoso5994 ай бұрын
@@Warp9pnt9 The output and consumption are all deterministic. I believe the ratio is 1 bio water inputs perfectly powers 8 boiler units, using 2 conditioners. You will need some extra makeup water but once you do the math so long as you don't blow your electrical grid it runs forever. The only need for a buffer is on start up to get everything saturated and consuming the water. If you front load your system with a bunch of fuel you can start it without a buffer. (By making your own buffer in the unit feeding it fuel).

These are the types of mods I like.. I played through SE and a few other complex mods in factorio and had a blast with them. I never finished Pyanodon, but hopefully some day when I don't work as much I'll have more time for it.

I would actually want to see more of this mod. I know, its pain in the ass coz im playing the mod too(im 8½ hours in to the game and still dont have space elevator). Love your videos especially from Satisfactory and i think this mod have potential. Its cool and good in that the steps are more how it would be in real life. Its fun but it's not fun at the same time. Would be happy if you would keep going in this mod.

Reminds me of my first Angel+Bob Run in Factorio. Completing the base game is merely a tutorial at this point.

glad to see someone was unhinged enough to bring AngelBobs from factorio to satisfactory

I kinda want to play this mod once satisfactory updates (and the mod itself updates) to 1.0. It honestly seems like the most high quality 3d factory game mod I have seen.

This was fun. I was already kinda blown away by the sheer scale of your old factories but this... thus could be fun.

I fucking love this channel. I have been a fan for YEARS! I'm sorry it took so long to leave a comment but MAN the way you write, deliver, and stick these videos is FUCKING AMAZING MAN!

I have to say, this is kinda impressive. The complexity does make stuff more tedious, but once you figured it out it gives more of that "you made it" feeling.

i would love to see more of what this mod has to offer for the sheer curiosity of what the mod holds but also the morbid curiosity of seeing kibz go mental haha

I would love to see you continue your journey through this mod. It's tough but it can be veeeery satisfactory.
@TheBrothergreen3 ай бұрын
You know, honestly? Not a bad mod at all. While I can see why some people would prefer the basic game, SF+ is as good, it's just for different people. Honestly, if you don't enjoy fiddly ratio'd nonsense and problem-shooting things that are breaking, I'm not really sure why you're playing satisfactory and not Valheim. Coffeestain Studios should hire the maker of this mod and bundle it into their game.

I was waiting for the moment you got to the blast furnaces. I, like you, began with such ideals of "I have a good mastery on Satisfactory, surely I can blow through Satisfactory+" Ah, sweet summer children that we are. What awaits is madness. MADNESS I SAY
